It's too big, 8 by 10, but I was drawn to it. The Bucks went from 27 wins to 56 in his first year.

Picked this up last week, only one more Magic rookie to go

Nice cards, Neal! The '70 Oscar was one of my first vintage basketball cards too. Oddly enough, in a PSA 7 as well.

Thanks Arthur
Nice pickup Abe! |
Snagged a couple of raw cards the other night:

Been travelling for work a lot lately, but finally made it to the post office.....
(don't know why my pics always get uploaded sideways) |

What I do now is edit all my photos, only slightly, but something, then resave it/them before uploading to here or other sites. Works for me so maybe it will work for you and others as well? |

Rppc of one of the greatest teams in early pro basketball. It is the 1907-08 Gloversville (NY) team with HOF'er Ed Wachter (Ed is depicted in the 1933 Sport Kings cards). The team also included his brother Lew. Several of these players later became the nucleus of the great Troy Trojans team. This card is partially signed by Ed and was sent to a family member.

Here's a C. 1905 Ottawa "Silver Seven" Postcard. Includes Billy Gilmour, "One-Eyed" Frank McGee, Harvey Pulford, Alf Smith & Harry Westwick. This is the tougher to find black & white version of this postcard. Thanks Jim!

Adam, congratulations and good eye.

Thanks; I had that card when I was a kid, and now I get to have one all over again!
Man, I love this set: https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...%20PSA%206.jpg |

A recent pickup of a guy who ended up a decent player.

Nice, the poor man's Gretzky RC.
I also picked up a few Mikitas for less than the cost of submitting a pair of raw cards to PSA. Didn't take three months to get them, either: https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...%20PSA%206.jpg https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...%20PSA%207.jpg |

Nice P/U's guys.
The more I see hockey cards the more I want to venture away from my 52 Topps and start collecting those again. |

OK, now this might not look like much, as this card probably books for $2 raw, but this is a big one for me. This card completes my '80s Topps and OPC PSA graded run of Jari Kurri. The rest of the run has been complete for probably six years, but I had never seen this Topps 86/87 version in graded form. After looking for years, a friend of mine offered to submit one of my raw ones to PSA to complete my run. This was the result, and if you check the pop report you will see it is the only "9" recorded. Of course, very few of this Topps version have been graded. I might be the only one to get excited about a single like this, but I'm really excited to finally add this, and grateful to my good friend for getting it graded for me.

After all the great stuff posted recently (a Topps Test Russell, are you kidding?), these are almost embarrassing to post but I had a nice visit to my LCS and pulled these from a $0.50 cent box and had a great time doing it:

I loved 70s basketball. Seeing McGinnis there reminds me of what a great player I, and lots of others, thought he would be. I remember years later reading an article to the same effect, with a title, and I think I remember it, "Oh, What Might Have Been." Yes, he made the HOF eventually for his ABA years, but he had all-time great potential IMO.
I suppose you could say something similar about Thompson, although he had somewhat more success than McGinnis and didn't IMO fall as far short of his potential. I saw him live as a sophomore. He went for something like 40 against a great Maryland team. He could leap out of the building. And here it is. http://www.apbr.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3057 |

Signed copies of this card are real tough to find, happy to get one!

Not a new pickup but Peter's cards made me think of it and I suspect most have never seen it. Plus I'll probably never have an opportunity to post a tennis card again. From a 1980 Argentinean multisport set called Deportistas. I love that they called him Joan by accident.

I recently gave this Orr card (top left) to my buddy's 10 yr old son. He brought some cards to our trailer for me to look at last year so this year I thought I'd return the favor. He says he still collects when he can, but playing Rep Lacrosse doesn't afford him a lot of time. :) After talking with him and showing him some cards I collected when I was around his age, plus my John Tavares RC, I gave him this Orr card. The exuberant smile he gave me then the huge bear hug right after brought a tear to my eye. Needless to say, I think I made his day and may have converted him to a life long collector? :) |
Nice work, Dale! We need to keep growing the cult!

My third Star Jordan (no 101 lol), all before the supposed "rookie."
|
Nice card, Peter. Weird to think that if that were centered lower BGS would have given it a 9.5. Looks so much better the way it is there. A "perfectly" centered Star card gets an 8.5 from BGS. Really makes you think.
I love the Star Supers. The two best looking Star Jordans are his '84 and '85 Supers. Arthur |
