I don't normally post much in the pics thread, but I thought I would share what cost me a huge piece of the most important part of my collection, to trade for the opportunity of a lifetime perhaps.

By posting the pic the entire board may be able to enjoy the card as much as I hope to.

Scott

OK Scott,

Now I'll trade you all of my unopened wax boxes from the late 1980's and the 1990's for that Wagner.

After some consideration, I will also throw in my entire Starting Lineup collection.

Congrats Scott! You have attained a goal most of us can only dream about.

Mike

Congratulations Scott!

I'm sure it wasn't easy to part with another portion of your collection but that Wagner will make you forget all about the cards you had to let go of to acquire it.

Thanks for the back info on your Wagner.

If you don't mind my asking.....does Wagner make your T206 set a 524-card set ?

Best regards,

Way to go, guy! Never would have guessed you had a deal like that cooking when we were looking over my dupes and beaters. You appeared pretty much normal. Guess now you'll need to throw on some seller's commish on my ratbag Newsy Lalonde to pay for the cat food you'll be living on.

That card may be a 2 but it's got the eye appeal of a 10. Rounded corners, shmounded corners. Congratulations, Scott!

Edited to say: Nice fun bunch of pick-ups, Sean. Guess you're probably feeling like you just got nuked. It's all good.

This might qualify as the single biggest card trade ever... I got to hold the card - it's a beauty for a 2. That's the correct grade, btw - it has a vertical crease that's more visible from the back. Much, much nicer than the PR ones that sold in Heritage and Mastro recently.

Scott, awesome card and an awesome image for the grade. What a big difference between a 1 and 2. Now is it true that going forward B & L auctions will be charging bidders 200% BPs?

Very nice, and so meaningful as for the hobby to have a Wagner be part of a trade, rather than some record breaking selling price.

Geez Scott, what a card and pickup and done without lights, camera and action the way it used to be. Very refreshing.

I was at your table yesterday afternoon consigning to your upcoming auction, trying to work a small potatoes purchase and had no idea you had worked this deal.

Congrats on a great looking pick up!

How. Cool. Is. THAT! OMG. Good for you Scott. How fun.

I'm right with whoever it was upthread that said it's cool that a nice Wagner was part of a trade and not outright purchase. Something about that strikes me sentimentally or ... something. Like the school yard meets the hedge fund, or some such paradox.

I had these two... but got them graded at the show

cobb:

dimaggio: This one had some tape on each corner (was taped into a scrapbook I guess)... I was able to get the tape off without too much harm to the card.
