This whole second-person plural self-referencing has to CUT IT OUT! First "The Bruces", now "Gizmii"?

Wow, strong power play by Gizmo. Leon, can we start a pool on the timing of the counter offer?

I am certain those two offers on the table are very tangible. Can you imagine the lost business at GAI if one of the offer included:

"Gizmo, former lead authenticator at GAI, is now on the Coache's Corner Team." Now that my friends, would be a game changing event.

Personally, I would not trust any signature authenticated from either GAI or Gizmo, just based on their word. I have enough years/experience in autograph collecting that I can spot the bad stuff that their "experts" routinely miss. They have authenticated some legit autographs, but I have seen more than my fair share of forgeries residing with GAI authentication attached to them.

Honestly, I have seen so many bad GAI authenticated autograph pieces that it's sickening. Not sure if it was the great work of Gizmo, the former Justin Priddy, or another "expert" over there.

They are not really helping the hobby with their autograph authentication services. I wish they would just get an authenticator in there to get it right, or cease the services. I can't imagine how many uneducated collectors have been burned by buying some of those forgeries GAI has passed.

These are just my personal opinions and experiences.

For those unfamiliar. Rick Giddings, aka Gizmo, is a real superstar and a cunning linguist in the collecting arena... Just ask him.

11/07, Gizmo typed;
"FUNNY THING WAS STEVE ROCCHI IS VERY CLOSE TO ME,ARE YOU AN IDIOT?AND I ACTUALLY JUST GOT OFF PHONE WITH STEVE,AND HE EXPLAINED THE SITUATION!SO TAKE YOUR KISS ASS ATTITUDE,AND JAM IT!I ALSO COMPLIMENTED MIKE BAKER FOR THE RECORD!AND STEVE IS NOT IN TOTAL CONTROL OF THAT COMPANY,WHICH HE PROBABLY SHOULD BE!AND HE ALSO ASKED US NOT TO JUMP SHIP,THINGS ARE BEING WORKED OUT!BEINGS I AM STILL THERE MIDWEST SUBMISSION CENTER,I THINK I KNOW STEVE A LITTLE BETTER THEN YOU!I APPRECIATE YOUR POSITIVE ATTITUDE TOWARD GLOBAL,BUT YOU HAVE NOT BEEN THROUGH WHAT ALOT OF US HAVE!SO WHEN YOUR DONE KISSING HIND ENDS,LET ME KNOW,OTHERWISE IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT SOMEONE ELSE HAS BEEN THROUGH,SHUT YOUR FLAP!STEVE AND MIKE WILL DO FINE WHETHER WE MAKE IT OR DONT!JUST NEED TO GET SOME OF THE OVERPAYED,NON WORKING PEOPLE OUT OF THE PICTURE!MAYBE THEY CAN WORK FOR YOU?AND THEN WE WOULD HAVE ALOT OF BRAIN SURGEONS LIKE YOURSELF RUNNING AROUND KISSING BUTTS?"

Brilliant!

He is a regular Shakespeare and such an effective communicator. This clearly demonstrates anyone can sell cards. I am so proud to be in the same line of work as Rick. Congratulations to GAI on this one.

By the way, has anyone here ever purchased one of Rick's "quality cards?"

Greg

If GAI eventually fails, as seems likely, one wonders what will happen to Mike Baker who, by all accounts, is an extremely knowledgeable grader notwithstanding whatever mistakes of businesss judgment he may have made along the way.

My ignorance? How about your's Dick? With your horrific writing skills, how do you get a job anywhere? Your name is mud. You'll lose all your customers with the attitude you have. Your parents need to put you back in Child Care. No one here gives a crap about you. Everyone here thinks you're a big joke. I'd be embarrassed to show up around here. Amazing how Leon forwards your messages when you slammed him here the last time around. GROW UP!!!

...holy smokes, after the afternoon I'm having, this is just what the doctor ordered.

Leon, for the sake of The Board's comic relief, I hope you continue to act as courier for Gizmo Giddings hobby-altering postings.

How the Gizmo/GAI relationship went south will be of paramount concern for the remainder of my very busy afternoon.

HILARIOUS.

Rick called and asked me to edit his last post out...Since he could have done it himself, had he not been accidentally blocked, I did it for him. I would do the same for anyone. He did say the original post could stay....so there you go...Sorry to take away some of the comic relief.....

What really amazes me about a genre of collecting that is riddled with fraud is that no matter what bad press is thrust upon them, they manage to survive and still prosper. Global may yet again change it's business strategy and there may again be a following that allows it to continue to act on the behalf of the collecting public.

As SCD continues to prosper (exist?) despite the fact that it is has done more harm than good and refuses to listen to the advertisers and readers who continue to show it's distaste for the once prominent publication by reducing it to the thickness of an Olson twin, the hobby mavens refuse to see change as a solution.

By the way, Coach's Corner's latest auction ends on Friday so get those bids in early!

They say that a first impressions are important because you form an immediate opinion...like a kid with a mohawk on a job interview...you may have already formed an opinion in a negative light, I have to question the education of a person who throws himself out there with those grammar skills.

This is the guy who is passing or failing my Babe Ruth ball? He can't even end a sentence properly.

My two cents...

DJ

Rick called back and asked for the original post to be edited out, so I did. This is unusual but since he can't post, due not to nothing he did, I helped. He did ask to take down, or edit, a few other posts but that is up to the original posters......Hope everyone understands and appreciates the issue. I also see no reason to lock the thread at this point. .....long day
