Default Info On these 1933 Player's Cigarette Cards

Posted By: Jbgird

Can anyone give any info on these Original Tobacco Card Set - John Player & Sons, Derby and Grand National Winners. This set of 50 cards was issued in 1933. I have the entire set of 50 in EX condition. Any help would be great.

I haven't seen these before and have no idea of value. Players produced many different card sets. These might bring a good price matted and framed as a group. I have a couple of the sets of actors and railroad locomotives framed and matted.

I purchased a complete set of these (ExMt) professionally mounted and matted about 15 years ago for $100. I'm pretty sure the framing, mounting and matting took up most of the cost. They present very nicely with a brown frame and dark green (almost olive drab).
