Default Mordecai Brown photo identification question

Posted By: Mike Pugeda

In an effort to keep traffic flowing, I will tell my antique find story.

I enjoy going to flea markets, antique stores, etc. in hopes of discovering the holy grail. My brother and wife assure me that these places have "the finest sh*t on earth" and most of the time I agree with them.

But one day I was drawn to a composite photo. I started to look through the rows of small photos hoping to find an old ball player in the mix, but after the first couple of rows I figured I was wasting my time. I started to walk away, but something drew me back. And sure enough in the very next row, I saw the name....Mordecai Brown. My excitement was tempered as I was sure that when I checked the price on back, it would be some astronomical price. When I turned it over it read...$10.00....Eureka!!!

Anyway, the picture is below. Does anyone have any idea what the Mississippi Valley Consistory is or was? I tried researching but to no avail.

I haven't read the new Brown biography, but the SABR bio of Brown indicates he appeared to live in Terre Haute, Indiana from 1920 on. http://bioproj.sabr.org/bioproj.cfm?a=v&v=l&bid=101&pid=1684 Don't know if that is in the Mississippi Valley range.
