Default Separate B/S/T Section for T206s?

I'm just wondering if others would find it beneficial to have a separate section in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum for T206s. It would make it easier for the collectors only interested in T206 to find what they want and collectors like me who aren't looking for T206s to find what we want (T3s, T207s, etc). Thoughts?

27 of the 35 most recent Tobacco B/S/T posts are t206. It drives me crazy but never thought of a separate section.

I think it's a good idea, mainly putting myself in the shoes of others.

I'm looking for T206 cards, so there's not much to have to wade through in the B/S/T.

I can see how it would be maddening if you were in the market for something else.

http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...=SEPERATE+T206

Here is a former thread on that topic.

I'd vote no again because those of us who like to collect some of everything would have one more section to click on. Instead of having to open up 4 different BST sections every 5 minutes, it would be 5 different BST sections every 5 minutes to see if anything new is listed.

General MO of the board is to not have changes unless there is an overwhelming reason. We voted before and it was less than 52% voting yes to a separate BST section. That isn't overwhelming to me. It hasn't been that long since we voted last time. We did change it to 40 threads per page and that seems to have helped some.

It's a major set and has far more collectors than any other set In the prewar category. I would say if any other sets were like this it would be the same issue.

I do how ever think they need their own category. Non 206 cards get drowned most the time. None of the other BST categories are like that

Default My two cents

I would rather see individual categories for buying, selling, and trading than a specific one for T206s. Just my opinion.

There would be less 206 threads in the bst if certain sellers/buyers would group their sales/wants into one thread instead of three or four.

Best,

it seems the T- BST section is at least half filled with T206 cards.

1 - From my view, im not looking for T206's and i have to filter througn all the posts, (like spam lol) to find what im looking for.

2 - I would think from a T206 guy's view, they would never have to see any other cards while looking for what they want.

3 - like tonyo said, there are other guys who just want to see a montage of cards, because they collect alot of different sets.

not that i'm encouraging it...but I'd wager 1 crisp...possibly trimmed T206 Lake...with a common back...that if a vote were to be taken...the % in favor of a t206 category on bst would be over 60%.

To me "overwhelming" would be 75%-80%. I don't think "overwhelming" is 60%. I just looked over there and there are already too many categories, imo....Maybe if we consolidate two and make another.....but I am reluctant to change something that isn't broken.

While we are discussing BST stuff, I always felt that the 1920-1949 section should only go to 1947, and the other one should read 1948-1979 thanks to Beckett starting "modern" cards in 1948 with Bowman coming into existence. Might help with those people who group those cards from 1948 and 1949 into the category it belongs in. Just my two cents. Not a huge change, and I think it makes sense.

The number of B/S/T posts could be reduced simply by keeping some of them in the monthly pickup threads.

Default 75%-80%

I am in the 75%-80% group that humbly requests a separate category for the ever popular and omnipresent T206 cards in the BST. I am somewhat lazy and prefer not to sift thru the T card section for the non-monster cards.

I tend to agree with this as I really got confused on exactly where to put my Hage's Dairy search threads when I first got here.

I'd probably include everything post war since things like '46 Remar Bread, Bond and Tip top bread are kind of stuck in no mans land other wise

Oh well, I tried. Guess I'll just continue to sift through the dozens of T206 threads to find the occasional diamond in the rough.

I have loosened my stance somewhat. I have looked at the BST section A LOT in the last couple days. I am trying to see what sections I can combine to be able to have a separate T206 one. It ain't over yet. I am not saying definitely there will be one but I am trying to figure it out. Forget the poll last time I want to try to keep the board evolving in a positive manner. At the same time, change for the sake of change, isn't good either. We'll see.

I like it as is. The fact that T cards get their own section make it diversified enough. I think the number of active threads by any one member is the bigger issue. The most a person should have at one time is 3 (one for buying, trading, and selling). This is not always the case.

How about a separate category for T206's on the main board as well? Then if anyone posts about T206's anywhere else, they should be banned

I am for keeping it the way it is... I second the notion of having a board member keep their threads at a minimum though... maybe 1 per page maximum?

I think that you could get a 75% - 80% majority, Leon. Many of the T206 collectors would, I'm sure, like their own section, and those who are not interested in T206's would have a much cleaner main board for a variety of other posts.

Is it really that hard or cumbersome to not look at a T206 thread if you don't want to look at them? Simply scroll to the non-T206 thread of your choice. It's quite easy.

Hey, why not just have a seperate section for every type of card. Then, the board can be divided into little sub-groups. Because it's too hard to scroll nowadays.

I'm not referring to the BST, just the main board.

Sincerely, Clayton

I like the main board, the b/s/t functions fine and I could care less about a seperate t206 thread. But, what if there was another option at the top and when you clicked on it you came to area with one thread per set/issue. You could post in either the main forum this new one or both, but Id love to have a seperate CJ thread where people interested in CJ stuff could just go back and forth w/o cluttering the main board. This thread would always be there and I would think serve as a great home for knowledge on that set/issue and could be expanded into pins, pc's, etc. Imagine being a newbie, hitting this site and finding a thread that was 4 years long just on t205 or something you're just getting into. Maybe? It would also put you more in touch with the folks that are into the same thing you are, the main way I have done that is thru selling here. Just a thought, its still early.

I am primarily a T206 collector. A separate section would be nice, but I am good the way it is.

If everyone would just send me all the T206 they have it would solve the problem.
