Default Old 1890s? Postcard information

I was hoping one of you guys on here might be able to shed some light on this items for me? I am buying newer stuff from a guy and he sends me pictures of this item. It looks to have been signed by the player from the front of the picture but I can't find anything about the player or the team in question. Any information you might have or resources for researching an item like this you might know about would be very much appreciated. I might be way off with the date but it looks to be 1890s or so. Feel free to correct me on that though as I am not a huge collector of these odler items. Anyway, pretty cool old post card and in pretty nice shape too with a nice note from the pictured player about heading to the "ball grounds".

Thanks,

Josh

stampbox dates it to 1904-1918. Likely around 1910-1918 but the lack of collar might put it later in that timeframe. Local town team player photographed in photographer's studio. Nice image.

Can't be prior to 1907 because it has a split back.

going to be hard to ID the guy as the sig on back is not the easiest to read.

PS here is a link to how to date the RPPCs
ie your "AZO triangle 4up"

"A" list

Default Thanks!!

Thanks so much for the input and information. As I mentioned, I was way off on the date and you guys seem to have done a nice job narrowing it down to the 1910s and even more specifically 1916-1918. I am goint to see if I can figure out a town and team name next and then start looking for the roster. The Stamp Box site is very useful, thanks!!!

Josh
