For sale: Vintage Chicago Cubs items

A little background on these items.

I worked for the Chicago Cubs in the early 80's before the memorabilia boom hit. They were tossing some old documents out and I happened to see these and thought they were interesting so I brought them home. I would like to move all of these items in one transaction but would break up if need be. Please make me an offer if interested.

What I have for sale is 5 different pieces of Cubs stationary from various pre-WWII years. All of these items came from the records of the Cubs traveling secretary from the 20's and 30's Robert (Bob) Lewis (Whose name is at the top of all pieces of stationary). Many of these items have typewritten notations from Bob Lewis that notates expenses etc from various road trips and spring training. These items have been in a magazine storage bag with a acid free backing board since I brought these home 20+ years ago. They do have the normal fold that a document in a business envelope would have. All pieces of stationary are on high quality bonded paper.

The 1st item is a sheet from 1933 that is blank on the front but it does have notations on the back dated November 19, 1933 and document expenses to the minor league meetings in Galveston Texas. This one has no folds and would display real nice with a vintage team photo. The names at the top include Bill Veeck (senior) many in the Wrigley family and Rogers Hornsby as the team manager.


The next item has notations dated April 9. 1934 and has notations about a training trip presumably for 1934 spring training. Again, this one has no folds and presents well with a photo or collage. The names at the top include Bill Veeck (senior) many in the Wrigley family and potential hall of famer Charlie Grimm as the team manager


The next sheet features an animated group of bear cubs acting as the pitching battery at the bottom of the sheet. The notations on the back of the sheet are from August 1931 and mentions expenses on a road trip taken by the Cubs in August of that year. The names at the top include Bill Veeck (senior) many in the Wrigley family and Joe McCarthy as the team manager.


The next sheet is dated September 30, 1928 and has notations regarding a road trip that was taken in September of that year. The interesting entry on this sheet speaks about someone named W. Brown who would not accept 15 dollars for a "fall hat". The names at the top include Bill Veeck (senior) many in the Wrigley family and Joe McCarthy as the team manager.


The last sheet contains notations dated April 13, 1932 and speaks of expenses for spring training of that year. The names at the top include Bill Veeck (senior) many in the Wrigley family and Joe McCarthy as the team manager. This is the year the Cubs would go on to win the National league and meet the Yankees in the series. Babe Ruth would go on to call his shot in this series.
