Diamondbacks AA player Jon Griffin did this year. I thought 4 was the MLB record.

I know that Ted Williams hit 4 homers in 4 AB over four games. He walked every other time up during that span. It is not the answer but....still a cool fact.

I believe he hit three to end game 1, then walked in his first AB of game 2, and then hit two more in a row.

Default 5 dingers

No player has ever hit five homers in consecutive at-bats in the majors, but someone did it on a high school softball field in Kentucky.
Sheperdsville (Ky.) Bullitt Central High star Hailey Szpila drilled five home runs on consecutive at-bats during a three-game stretch for her team. As reported by the Louisville Courier-Journal, Szpila wrapped up her performance in Bullitt Central’s victory against Elizabethtown (Ky.) High with a solo shot, then exploded for three homers during a record-setting afternoon against Taylorsville (Ky.) High, where the junior accounted for nine RBI (two of her homers were grand slams) and tied the state record for home runs in a game.
Bullitt Central won that rout 15-1, but Szpila’s crowning moment came the very next night, when the junior started off Bullitt Central’s victory against South Oldham (Ky.) High with yet another home run.
Three games, five at-bats, five homers. All in a week’s work for the star, who starts as both a pitcher and first baseman.

Not Musial. His big day (2 May 1954, vs NY Giants):
Game 1: walk, solo HR, 2-run HR, single, 3-run HR
Game 2: walk, fly out, HR, HR, pop out

A-Roid nephew Joe Durand hit eight in a row for Miami Gulliver Prep School in a tournament in March.

There is a Major Leaguer that went 5 for 5 official times AB.

Well someone obviously walked in between. Trick question, or one that requires careful parsing anyhow. I'll guess. Mike Schmidt.

I remembered this...Mike Cameron tied a major league record when he hit four home runs in one game becoming only the 15th player in MLB history to do this. In his fifth at bat, he hit one to the warning track, just missing what would have been a record setting fifth home run. I was Living in San Diego and Cameron was oN the Padres the Year before He Done His Deed!

So, I Believe that Cameron was the last to hit 4 in a one game!
I also think that Ted's Question has a bit of a twist to it... maybe 2 in one game and 3 in the next?

However, I've never heard of anyone to Hit 5 HR's iN 5 AB's... Interesting!!!

grasshopper humbly awaits your answer...

Home Run Derby's don't count.

The 5 consecutive HR's were part of a big event that occurred in our lifetime.

Reggie Jax? 4 straight in the WS, and one to lead off 1978?

I remember in 2012 Josh Hamilton hit 4 against the Orioles and then 2 against the Angels the next game he played. Can't remember if he hit the homerun against the Angels his first ab though.

Not quite....but close enough.

On Oct 16th, Reggie hits a HR in his last AB in the 5th game.

In the 6th game, Reggie Walks in his 1st AB.

Then he proceeds to hit his dramatic 3 consecutive HR's (each on the 1st pitch, off 3 different Dodger pitchers).

Season ends.

Reggie's 1st AB in the 1978 season is a HR.

Thanks guys, it was fun.

And to make it even better, at least the first four were all one swing at bats, if memory serves.

That's correct....Thurman Munson and Reggie hit back-to-back HR's off Sutton. Reggie's HR was off Sutton's 1st pitch.

Reggie homered in the home opener in 1978 but not in the season opener.

If Reggie has been deemed incorrect, I nominate Ralph Kiner as our honorable mention. 4 consecutive HRs in 1947 and again in 1949.

I remember reading on a 1975 Topps card that Al Rosen hit 5 home runs in one game but as a minor leaguer. I'm not sure if they were consecutive or if the minor leagues pertain to this question, but it is still an impressive feat.
