I hope this won't be considered to far off base for this forum: For the past couple of months I have truly enjoyed reading, posting (occasionally), and learning from this forum. I am still somewhat new to pre-war cards (and my interest is ever-increasing), but I have been a collector of middle era cards for quite some time. I'm wondering if someone here knows of an online forum similar to Net54 that is focused on 1948-1970 era cards. Or, more specifically--if it exists--1950-1959 cards?

The psacard.com forum discusses cards in those eras.

I am sure Beckett has a post war section that would be well attended to....a quick google search should get you there...

Would love to find one myself as well. While both those forums have their excellent credible moments, I've personally never found them as consistently engaging as things are here...and, I imagine, there's some censorship going on in at least one of them. Often, I've found myself sifting through more chaff than wheat (and I don't mean Zack.)

Hello, I plan on starting a new forum where the only topic to be discussed will be 1990 Donruss baseball cards. I will post a link when it is up and running. Hope to see you all there!
Rick

I would certainly visit a forum that covers Post War cards through the early 70's, especially regionals and test issues. There are a lot of mysteries surrounding some of these sets still. Would be a piece of cake to start one on Net 54, no?

Would there be enough interest for another "tab" like the memorabilia one to have post war cards? Would it dillute this one in a negative way? What year would it go to, or would it go all the way to 2007? The memorabilia forum we started is nice and doesn't ever get into the disputes as this one does so another one that is easy to manage would be no big deal...again, only if there is interest and it didn't negatively affect this one. Personally, I have about as much interest in newer cards as I do memorbabilia but I still participate a little bit over there......Just some thoughts....

like WWII through 1975 or so. That's where the wheels kinda fell off the bus anyway......but.....it'd likely become mostly a graded site I guess, so maybe the PSA boards are the best. Don't know........

IMO, adding a postwar-through-1975 board here would be fantastic. I don't know why there's a worry it would become a graded forum. If we can post our own topics, like usual, then the threads will be as varied as the members' interests. In what way could it negatively affect the pre-war board? I don't see how. This site is well-managed, trustworthy, and cozy (for lack of a better word). It seems to me that a post-war board here would definitely fill a niche.

I was only thinking out loud...doesn't matter to me....The memorabilia forum on here has had some pretty good discussions albeit not as many as this board....so that was my only thought. But I agree Beckett and PSA are probably the best for the newer stuff.... still if there is enough interest for our Net54 members I would consider it....I don't think the memorbabilia tab (forum) has hurt anything....and it takes that collecting field mostly off the card side which was the whole purpose. It does seem like a lot of board members do collect 50's and 60's stuff....(not my cup o tea)....regards

Like I say I am open.....I am going to start a seperate thread about this to gauge the input. We don't make changes quickly to this board on purpose....Contrary to a few naysayers the inmates do (mostly) run the asylum.....with some controls in place per the forum rules.....regards

I think 1975 or even 1980 is a logical cutoff. Post 1980 there is a wealth of information available on sets on the old Beckett and Standard Catalog guides but prior to that there are still some mystery sets etc.
