Default Ball Players or Not?

What is everyone's opinion on this one. It's being sold as a baseball tintype but I'm not sure.

Perhaps that's what killed James Creighton-- he caught his bat on his watch fob.

The rule is that the tintype will receive full baseball premium (which is considerable) if there there is no question it is a baseball scene. For example, baseball equipment (bat, ball, mask, etc) will prove it is a baseball tintype.

If you can come up with a variety possibilities for what the image shows (It could be baseball, but it could be rowers or fireman or walkers), it won't receive baseball money.

Look like they might work as railroad conductors or some other related job

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home I would be arrested, so I go to baseball games and fit right in.

Dont all ball players wear their pocket watches on their vests just before taking the field?

David might not concur, but my rule is:

If there's no ball hanging from a string at the top of the image, it's not a baseball photo.

At least, it's not one worth owning!

The baseball hanging from a string is an Old Judge/Goodwin & Co thing. You will find it almost no where else.

some tintypes of felines. Early "in action" animal photography, if you will.

Mrs. Joseph Hall's cats were not happy campers during the shooting of the Old Judges.

Ive read that the Whitney/dog OJ was originally supposed to be Whitney/cat but Fido Baldwin scared the cat away.
