Default Mcloughlin Baseball Game - $3,295.78 RESERVE NOT MET

Check out this link above....this game got a top bid tonight on eBay, of $3,295.78 and still didn't hit the reserve....and look at the condition of the aprons! (side flaps) well photographed for all to see.....it doesn't even have the spinner! Must have been baseball collectors who drove it up..I don't think game collectors would pay that.

Beautiful image on the lid, but I agree with your assessment Carlton. I think they should reconsider and sell to the highest bidder. I know I would.

I don't follow games too much but think they are neat and some have great lithography, as this one does. That being said this does seem like a pretty darn good/high bid.....regards

Considering that the game was lacking a spinner and that REA sold an example last year (slightly poorer condition but with spinner) for $600 or so, I found the reserve ambitious and the bids somewhat dubious. But hey, it's eBay

as to the high prices reached on an unreasonable reserve.... Kinda makes one think - I hate when that happens.

Joseph is right....I checked it out, REA did have one in their 2006 auction that appears to have been a little better condition...and even had the spinner...and it sold for $580.00
Lot # 762
Circa 1900 "Home Base Ball" Game
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $580.00

Spinner seen below

I chalk up the $3,295.00 to Joseph's keen observation "But hey, it's eBay". Anything can happen on eBay with it's reach.
