Default new 2002 t206 cards

Posted By: John

eBay item 1808945693 (Ends Mar-06-02 17:00:13 PST ) - T206 OTTO KRUGER - COLUMBUS 1909-11 TOPPS 206 Address:http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1808945693 Heres a link to a t206 found in one of the new 2002 topps "T206" cards that came out. I know some people were interested in what kind of condition these cards would be in.While one isnt a great measuring stick,it looks like this ones around vg condition. Theres probably going to be alot of people soon listing t206's who have no idea what theyre worth,and/or listing them wrong. For the people who dont know, topps bought 4400 T206 cards, and are randomly inserting them in packs of 2002 cards similar in design to the t206 set(also pictured in the scan). They are putting out reprints of some of the better cards/players and also have game used cards of players from the original t206 set

interestig notes.....the chances of getting an original t206 card is 1:110 packs,or one every 5 1/2 boxes....i only saw 5 originals with scans and all were vg-vg/ex range and all were commons. but the interesting thing is,someone got a t205 from one of the new packs. The cards come in a special marked holder and it actually said t206 on the holder...someone messed up

Default new 2002 t206 cards

You know -- just confuse the **** out of the modern day collectors. Make each card with each of the 40!! distinct advertising backs that the T206Museum site lists. Perhaps make the Wagner Bat card with two different backs. Just do whatever possible to confuse the hell out of modern day collectors. I would love to see them trying to make sense of it years from today. Heck, they could even throw some (unused) proofs and scraps in there too, just to make things fun.

I was looking today at the Mike Schmidt T-206 card. As my favorite player, I almost thought of bidding on it. But then my senses got the better of me.

I sold a very large lot of gvg T206 commons's to Kit Young last summer. I was very surprised at his interest. I recognize the Karger. Kit?

Interesting to think that cards we once owned will be taken out of new packs in the future! Kit Young was buying up loads of t206's last Spring, bidding more than book in most cases - it seemed like they bid on almost every vg t206 on ebay that didn't have a crease or mark. I felt at the time that they were single-handedly increasing everyone's cost for purchasing vg to ex t206's....so I sold, and they even bought a few from me!

I wondered why Kit Young was buying all those vgish cards, he bought several T205s from me. I wonder it that means T205s are next? On the other hand I have noticed Kit was selling a slew of vgish T205s and T206s on ebay. Hmmm.....
Look at the scan of the Sweet Cap back which I assume goes with the Krueger front in the link given above. I believe this is the scan of a T206 Bresnahan I sold on ebay about a week ago which had a great front but glue in the four corners from a scrapbook. My back scan was bright and colorful and this one is light and murky but either that is my scan which has been altered or the Krueger came from the very same scrapbook because the glue residue marks are identical.
Weird...
