Default N.y. Baseball giants megaphone - need help please

Hi Guys!

I just picked up a large sized N.Y. Giants (baseball) megaphone (see below). It's 32" long and has "N.Y. Giants Baseball Club" painted on one side. The rivets all look to be vintage.

Does anyone know what era this is from? I was told it's pre-1930, but I'm thinking that it may be from the 50's. I tried to photo match it, but came up empty. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Lou

That looks like something that would have been used at the game, like for the public address announcer at the games. If so, that would probably make it pre-1930's. I looked for photos of George Levy who used one at the Polo Grounds in the early years, but came up empty. I did find this but not a great photo.

Also some live footage, not of NY but will give you an idea of the era.

Here's a paragraph that looked interesting as well

That would really be cool if you had an original NY Giants megaphone used at the games in the early 1900's.

Here is a photo I have from Pat Piper who was the legendary public address announcer at Wrigley Field for decades and would eventually retire in the 1970's. This photo is from the 1930's and looks very close to your megaphone with the handle and apparent metal mouthpiece. If I had to put a time frame on your item I would say easily early to mid 30's but I am no expert.

"Now get your pencils and scorecards ready...and Pat will give you the correct lineup for today's ball game"....
