Default REA Catalog

Sick stuff! Got mine yesterday in MA! I was very unproductive at work this morning!!! Doesn't help since I'll need to make more money to afford all the goodies I want from this upcoming auction! Ridiculous!

Let the BST frenzy (as people scrounge for loose change) begin!!!

The "brown" Lenox Wiltse doesnt show very well as brown, here is a better scan for you to decide .

It was previously sold as a regular black back in an SGC holder and does appear to have crossed over as a brown variant.

Default Final Catalogs Shipped Today

All catalogs are on the way! The final shipment was sent today. We apologize that delivery times will vary a little more than usual because many catalogs were sent early. All catalogs were actually supposed to be sent today (April 1st). Thousands of catalogs are on their way and have not yet been received, so if you haven’t received yours yet, don’t worry. You’re in good company--even Chuck Norris’ catalog did not go out until today!

Rob, you are correct, Chuck Norris' catalog did go out today, but it wasn't an REA catalog.

Does the fact that they are in old SGC holders mean SGC would not assign them the same grade?

Don't feel so bad. I'm only 15 min away and I haven't got one yet either. Maybe I should just swing by and pick one up.

The question must be posed. Unless there's a small premium for the old style holders

"This card, which is an early SGC-graded example, is one of only thirteen T204 Ramlys (of any subject) ever to be graded MINT by SGC according to its Population Report. As noted in the introduction to the Ramly section of this auction (which features the balance of our consignor's Ramly collection; this card merited a lot of its own in the front of the catalog in the Featured section), we believe that some of the early SGC-graded T204 Ramlys were sheet-cut decades ago by legendary hobby pioneer Frank Nagy, who in the 1970s had a pristine T204 Ramly sheet (the only one in existence), and this fact is almost certainly related to the unparalleled perfection of this card".

Ah I see now. I was so excited from getting the catalog and so tired from carrying it and so intoxicated from smelling it that I had not read the description yet. Sheet cut or not they obviously are beautiful cards and I am glad to see the disclosure by REA.

Well...in reality these cut from sheet Ramly's are no different from the cut down wagner. And I'm guessing even with disclosure these Ramlys will sell for full on retail...so the future of the infamous nm-mt Wags is likely secure!

Kudos for mentioning that they were sheet cut. Such a shame that someone ruined the only unknown sheet.

I am tired of seeing these on ebay... I can't believe they made their way into an REA auction now:

Great auction. Placed my bids and may be able to afford one of the cards I'm after. I'm drooling over the Just So Childs, but with B/P it's already over $5000 and outta my league.

Same here. Not exactly REA caliber as I have understood it to be. Can the category polluting ersatz Zeenuts be far behind?

You beat me, Pete...still don't have mine...but I'm in the far reaches of the world .

Truthfully, I do keep the catalogs and I do look back at past ones, BUT when the new auction starts I really only use what is on the internet. And when I really want to search for something from a past REA auction I use the website search rather than old catalogs.

Cheers,
Blair

I did too. First one arrived the Monday before the auction started, and then another yesterday. Double the magnet enjoyment!
I dunno. I could be attracted to one magnet, but having two in the house could be polarizing

I got a catalogue yesterday (wow, very, nice and pricey!) I have been tracking the stuff I am looking for online and refershing the recent bids.

I have not been able to get registered. I sent in a request for the bid number information but have not been able to get approved since this is the first auction that I am looking to bid at. Am I doing something incorrectly? I have purchased a bunch in the last 18 months (much to my wife's chagrin) - however, it has been exclusively on Ebay, shows, and private sellers (and an N54 transaction). If someone has had a similar experience and could let me know how to become a registered bidder, I would appreciate it.

Also, since I am new to these type of auctions, can someone inform on the 18.5% buyer premium? It seems pretty substantial - especially on a big dollar purchase. It seems like it is standard practice in an auction of this nature and I am guessing that it goes to cover the costs of a super expensive catalogue, but I had just not seen something like that before - as these costs are captured on the seller side on a site like Ebay.

Thanks,
Kevin
