Default Bill White collection in the new Huggins and Scott auction.

Hi All:

Don't know if any of you oldtimers remember Bill White the collector, not the player, from the Philly area. He had some mimeographed sales back in the day. He had everything from 1800's to the 1960's including rare stuff like CJ's, Yum Yum's Father and Son, autographs and all sorts of things like press pins, stadium seats you name it he had it

He always had good stuff. Now I see Huggins and Scott has a ton of his collection in their latest auction. Brings back good memories.

I stayed at his apartment house in Ocean City NJ he and his wife ran with my wife and kids one year. Got to get a tour of his home to see all his great stuff. I recall others stayed there when EPSCC had their Ocean City Summer shows

Any Bill White stories?

I remember buying items from him and some were 1948 Bowman baseball cut from a sheet.

I do remember him from the early Philly shows in Spring Garden and Willow Grove. I looked at part of his collection in the Huggins and Scott Auction and the frame of his W601 looks like it may have been part of the walk in group at the first Philly Show in 1975.
A knowledgeable collector who even in Philly stood out among vintage collectors because it seemed so many at the show were A's fans rather than Phillies fans.
That and he had the same name as a Yankee announcer.
RIP Mr White

Jonathan:

Bill is NOT deceased. Just decided it was time to sell his vast incredible collection
