Default Guess the Grades!

I was looking for some cards to post in the "just show some cards" thread, and came up with these. Thought I'd do an unofficial contest instead. I recently sent these in to SGC. (couple months ago). 1st poster to correctly guess all 6 final SGC grades gets a free copy of the book "How to Make Pro Scouts Notice You" by Al Goldis and John Wolff. It's a cool book. Postage on me. FYI, all backs are very clean. Let the guessing begin....
oh yeah, only one guess per board member...

I have an extra copy of the book and want to give it away, so here is a hint. One of these 6 cards came back as trimmed. The other 5 have numerical grades.

Yeah, don't know if it is Bobby's scanner that is the problem, but the only card of that whole lot that does not look trimmed to me is Pelty. Every other card looks trimmed on the top border. If that scan was for raw cards for sale, I would not touch any of them.

Cheers,
Blair

Default Grades...

There are no tricks and the scans are very accurate. Going to help out a little here. Criss came back trimmed and Dineen got a 60. Contest re-opened to all if you want to make a second guess. Thanks for playing. Reminds me of the pick-six at Del Mar.

That is the first time I have ever seen the Abstein card. Wow. That is a disturbing image for some reason. Off center to the left, and where is he looking? Freaky unsettling for some reason!

Default I think...

...the "trick" is that all of them were deemed trimmed by PSA, but that SGC only nailed one of them for being trimmed. The grades are really secondary.

I agree with Blair.
Jones - Trimmed but with large top border probably got a 60.
Lake - Trimmed (see Abstein)
Pelty - 30
Abstein - Trimmed. If this card didn't come back from SGC as authentic, I have a lot of cards like it with "bat earred" corners like this one residing in SGC AUT holders which I guess I need to resubmit
Criss - Trimmed (see Abstein)
Dineen - Trimmed (see Abstein)

They all look trimmed to me. The only one I would want to take a closer look at for the possibility of not being trimmed is Pelty. If it is not trimmed, I would give it a 40/3

I agree in that most if not all look trimmed...let the pigeons loose...spill the beans already...then you can keep the book!

Default Thanks for playing..

The people have spoken. Time's up! Some background. I bought a lot of approx. 15 St. Louis T206's about 12 years ago from an auction listed in SCD. Claimed grades were vg-ex/mt. This was before scanned images were a near-requirement.The 5 St. Louis cards here were part of that lot. The Abstein came from a dealer (now net 54 board member) about the same time period (late 90's). When I sent these in with about 15 other T206's I expected a few more TRM'ed. A couple of you got close.

Jones- 60
Lake- 50
Pelty- 50
Abstein- 50
Criss- TRM (no slab)
Dineen- 60

I learned a little about third party grading, hope you did too. If anyone wants the book, let me know. (postage on you). Thanks for playing!!

Default Trimmed

For those who are big SGC fans, note that they were overly generous grading this lot! Maybe SGC suffers from the same inconsistency problem as PSA.
