Default Babe Ruth Item Questions

Guys I was curious if this item is worth anything or junk. It is 3 X 4 1/4 inches and has a blank back. It is in rough shape with creases and water spot and then the back is spotted as well. not sure what I have if anything. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

Could be a cut out of some kind from a box, maybe worth something - has the same photo as his rookie card. Any history on the item and maybe how old it could be? Were did you find it and did the seller have any info?

Jimmy

This first poster's email address has "fantasy" in it so I will assume it is a fantasy (read not real...) card....regards

My first post was with my e-mail address. I run a fantasy football league, that is where fantasy came. I purchased this item from a yard sale a few weeks back. He had several babe ruth items, such as newspapers, team photos from the era, posters..etc... I liked this, didn't think it was anything valuable but wasn't sure. It really looks old..at least the paper and spots anyway. One reply said it was fake..have you seen others like this and could I send it anywher to get it checked.

Mike,

Is this the only item you purchased at this yard sale?

The item in the original post is an incomplete reproduction of a 1914 Baltimore News Ruth baseball card. I have seen several of these sell on eBay over the past year, all of which were sold by sellers whose common practice is selling fraudulent baseball items. Besides the back being blank, the card’s dimensions are also wrong. Each one of these I have seen has been a blue tinted variation and they have all had the exact same soiling patterns.

Zach said everything I should have said, but I was short on time and trying to get ready for work. I've seen quite a few of these on ebay in the last couple of years....all fakes and every one looked exactly like this one.
