For all you T205 enthusiasts, picked this Honest Long Cut Tobacco advertisement up a few days ago. Measures a whopping 21" x 29" in its original frame.

Amazing stuff everyone! That Basketball Wall is a true labor of love. Must've taken many years to put that together.

Here's a recent pickup for me. Finally nailed down one of the Lucky Strikes....

It's great when people post items showing players many of us may not know much about, so it sends us immediately to Wikipedia to get a (hopefully non-biased) look at the guy's career and life. Today, it was Harry Heilmann. Pretty frickin' cool.
And great piece!!!!

Thank you fellas!

Heilmann is a top-tier HOFer. It probably limited his popularity with collectors, having his career squished between the T206 and Goudy eras... with no cards in either set.

Poor Harry!

I didn’t realize until just now that Heilmann…

A. Hit .403 one year, and had .393, .394 and .398 seasons as well (leading the AL each of those years)

B. Spent his last 2 years with the Reds.

An under-appreciated HOFer!

One of my Favorite post war LS posters 16x20. Mylar gives it à dull apperance. But this poster pops.
Second poster has been with me since 1977 When I bought it off a music store wall.

Default New Nolan Ryan promo display pickups

Not super old, but I recently picked up a couple of Nolan Ryan promo displays from the 1990's that somehow had eluded me through the years.
I can't believe I still can find new collectible items like these nearly 30 years later...

The 1st is a Ryan Coke Career Series poster promo from 1993.
This was offered to me by another net54 member. Fresh and never assembled!

The 2nd was a 1992 Chevron Gas promotion which advertised Nolan Ryan glass tumblers for $.99. The Chevron employee pinback for the same promo is also very cool.

Default 1970s Armour Meats Special Baseball Offer

Here is one you do not see very often from Armour Meats, which I believe is from the 1970s. The display measures 13.5 In by 10 In. It has two identical sides with a basedball in the middle wrapped in cellophane. Not sure but maybe it was hung from a ceiling and you could see it from different sides. There are no holes in it though. Both sides are the same. Anyway, 4 HoF players are included on the facsimile ball you would mail in for with a $1. I have never seen this before. Has anyone seen it and can you tell me the year? I am a huge Brooks fan, which was my interest in the display.

Thank you and happy collecting.

Are these things worth anything? I got them framed when I had an all sports type of room and now it’s more specific focused around the Orioles.

I would think so, maybe $100-150 for a guess. What are the dimensions? The paper stock? They don't appear to be out of a magazine, so I imagine they are store point-of-purchase displays of some kind. I've seen these or similar before, but don't know anything about them.

Pretty good guess.... $75 - $100 (each) is about the going price. There was a huge find of these a couple of decades ago. So they are not rare, but have dried up a bit in past years.

These are just two of perhaps a dozen varieties that were found. All are circa 1950s, but these are two of the better ones, IMHO. They are indeed posters that were used to promote Louisville Slugger products at retail stores. They are printed on thin paper stock, but are legit, and are not ads removed from magazines.

If the OP holds on to them a while longer, I would think they'd go up in price. The subject matter is great and they're not making any new ones!

Fantastic pickup, Bob!

I kind of like it in that frame. It really pops, but eager to see what you have done with it. Have you removed it yet? Curious to know if there's an easel on the back, and how they mounted it to the existing mat (tape, adhesive, etc.)

Hopefully it comes out clean, and congrats on a monumental pickup!
