They are cataloged as N333's which Leon stated. They are were produced by S.F. Hess and are known as S.F. Hess Newsboys. I was watching the one you bought on ebay, the bottom ad was trimmed off so I stayed away. They are in terms of rairty compared to the other three issues done by S.F Hess probably the easiest and less-desirable because of the players that are depicted. They aren't major leaguers or even minor leaguers but newsboys from eight different newspapers from a total of 8 different cities.
The list of the 8 different cities is as follows-
Albany
Botson
Cleveland
Detroit
New York
Philiadelphia
Rochester
Syracuse

thanks a lot Zach. Live and learn...although I figured the bottom was cut off.

N333
The whole bottom was cut off, missing lower 20-25%. It is missing the "S.F. Hess & Co. Cigarettes" ad at bottom. Might be skinned as well. Rare card though. Only info I have is Lipsets book.

I believe the bottom of the N333 would look the same as my non-sport N330 Actress card... but I'll bet yours doesn't have the inscription that mine has on the back

While rare, a couple have exchanged hands over the last couple years that I'm aware of thanks to Mr. Lipset. The following Detroit found a new home April 2004 (Lew Lipset - lot 25) with the second example auctioned by Lew in November 2004.

Regards,
Joe Gonsowski

Great images Joe. I forgot to mention this in my post, all of the N333s next to the players names have the newspaper they were representing. On the Collins that Joe posted it can be seen very clearly, the boston globe. Very cool issue imo.
