Default Anyone nab this?

Really great photo and I thought it might be a bit earlier than they thought it was.....I was watching it till it got shut down . And of course no way in heck it has Wags in it. That part of the auction was kind of "sketchy" as my 16 yr old daughter would say.

"It is possible that this image shows Honus Wagner and two of his brothers or possible teamates. The reason that we think this could be so is beacuase "Johannes Peter "Honus" Wagner was born on February 24, 1874 in Mansfield"

Haha. I was born in Port Arthur in the 1950's - I must be Janis Joplin

Mansfield, the County seat of Tioga County is quite a distance from the Mansfield that, according to the Seller, was incorporated into Pittsburgh.

I think Shoeless Joe hitchhiked through there once. Maybe it's him.

As I said in the John McGraw thread, these sellers find a photo, do what they call "research", and 100% of the time they come up with a Hall of Famer. It's as if those photographers only took pictures of guys headed to the Hall.

More likely to be my great-grandpa Fred, who was born in that Mansfield in 1870.

I guess the seller had it up twice and it's back up. Still not Honus though. Anyone have an idea on a better date for it? From what I have seen those hats and ties predate the 1880s but maybe not the other player? I am sure I will be corrected >

Looks like someone let the seller know there was no way Honus was in the picture....good to know he was responsive and deleted some of the description.

Good catch Mike. You are correct he did take out the fantasy about it being Honus. Kudos to the seller for that.
