Default 1860 baseball card

I just finished watching a recent episode of Strange Inheritance featuring a 1860 baseball team picture. In 2015 it sold at HA for $150,000 plus bp.
I enjoyed the show immensely.
Was anyone here involved in the sale or purchase of it?

Didn't see the show but was it that older lady that pinned it up on her bulletin board? Peck & Snyder team card?

I'll show my ignorance, what is P&S?
The flip on the SVC holder read C,1860 CDV
Brooklyn Atlantics, FARACH & LALUMIA STUDIO
It was graded Authentic.

Ah, so it was a CDV: carte de visite, basically a thin paper photograph pasted to a "cabinet" cardboard backing. P&S refers to the Peck and Snyder printed card with the Red Stockings team on it that is considered the first "card" used as advertising. I think the Peck and Snyder dates to 1868.

That was a CDV of the 1860 Brooklyn Atlantics. It is a very very important "card" which features of of the game's early great teams. I believe that there are two known examples.

AFAIK Peck & Snyder cards were first offered in 1869. At least that is the first time that I remember them being advertised in the newspapers of the day.

According to PSA, there are 6 Large cards --all graded Authentic...looks like these are more sought after than small version

and,

5 small versions, all authentic grades.

That is not the card that the OP is taking about. That is an 1865 CDV of the Brooklyn Atlantics.

Also, the PSA population report that you referenced is for the 1869 Cincinnati CDV and trade card.

The episode of Strange Inheritance was aired on April 14, in case someone wants to find it On Demand.
Thanks for the "education"!

LOL. I thought that the way that I worded that was kind of awkward.
