Yeah, I agree. We've seen those funky fronts on ebay recently...it was a blue-backgrounded card, though I can't remember the player.

Also, the ink on the Brunners back should be green, not black.

When the corners on the actual cards wear, the color of the paper loss or wear stays close to the original color of the card. With the reprint the corners have been artificially rounded recently and haven't had time to fade so they look darker around the edges.

All of the backs of these particular reprints that I've seen are off center from top to bottom so look for that as a give away too.

Besides that, the colors on the fronts are just faded compared to the real deal with the grass area showing a lot more spottiness.

tks guys for all the help
very disapointing though. I got them at a auction in Northern Michigan
I hope the indivduals who made the reprints are in jail !!!
quite the mood swing thinking you have few thousand dollars in cards then to drop to nothing .I guess I'll keep to what i know which is Hockey . tks again
do these retain any value or just coffee table pieces.

Unfortunately Sully these things happen all the time. A favorite trick of estate auctions is to bring reprints to the sale, and then claim they were found while cleaning out the attic. Bidders then assume they are old cards that have been in the house for decades.
