Default Identify Yogi's pals in this picture

This will not be that difficult, but there are a few that I'm stuck on.

I now believe the setting is the Yogi Berra Museum and learning center in NJ. Thanks in advance.

Not Cooperstown.

Looks like a photo of the opening of the Yogi Berra museum in Little Falls NY. The opening was in 1998, you may be able to find a news story that lists the guest addendees.

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like they may be in front of this display.

Found this snippet on a 2006 gala with those folks as guests,

Some of the others may be donors, not ex- players.

Agree that the setting is the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center, but Little Falls is in New Jersey.

It looks like it may have been in May 2007. They held a "A Night at the Hot Corner" at the museum.

Make that November 16, 2006.

I agree. Here's a 2006 Topps Heritage Chase Utley. The guy in the picture is way too old to be Utley, if this picture was taken in 2006. Utley was born in Dec 1978, so he was in his 20s when this picture was taken

Also, if there is agreement that #1 is Studs Terkel, the picture had to be taken before October 2008, as he died on Oct 31st, 2008.

Steve

#9 may just be a non-descript museum staffer...I know they tend to jump into Cooperstown group photos with regularity.

Honestly, since we know the picture was taken at the Yogi Berra Museum, I, personally, would contact them. They have to have records that would include a listing of previous events. They could probably look up and find any instances of Nettles, Brett, Robinson, and Schmidt being there at the same time, along with whoever else was there with them.

I think I agree regarding Utley, that pic looks like 2018 Utley, not 2008 Utley.

I am pretty confident that I have seen #9 before but cannot place the face and it is driving me nuts. I keep eagerly opening the new posts in this thread hoping that he has been id'd!

Same!

Utley wannabe is the only guy not looking at the camera. Definitely some museum patron. Rookie can't take a pic. Haha.

Not to drop a grenade, but George Brett is the best player in that pic, unless #9 is Ty Cobb.

Just another opinion, but while maybe that's Rosen, and he certainly wouldn't be out of place in that group,
it don't look like him to us. Al had a pretty prodigious schnozz, and we're not seeing it there.
Here's Al within just a few years of that 2006 group photo:

Steve,

Your post was the most helpful. I just got off the phone with a kind lady at the Museum, who was as determined as you guys to answer the question posed.
Once I got her logged in to Net54, it was easy.

The correct list is now posted in my original post. Only 5 players are in the photo: Brett, Yogi, Brooks, Graig & Schmidt. The other five were guests that evening.

Disclaimer: This was not posed as a trick question, nor is it my photo. The grandfather of my daughter-in-law has the photo and through her asked me the question. Thanks to all who contributed. I am glad to resolve the issue before this thread became a Net54 classic.

Now, can anyone identify the five guests.
