Default Max Carey photo in today's Hunt Auction

Shot in the dark, if anyone on here won lot #228 today, I am interested as my bid did not go through for some reason.

I had two bids not take, so you aren't alone.

It was a crazy auction - crazy high prices for some bad images and also crazy high prices for some great images. I did not see a lot of bargains, but was happy with what I got.

Yeah, it was weird. It said that my bid was placed and then the warnings came and the lot was over. There were a couple of other lots in which my bids did not take, but they were for resale. No biggie.

I managed to pick up some nice Pirates images. Lost out on the Fred Clarke photos late in the auction due to me being away from my phone.

Default Fred Clarke lot 510

If anyone here won lot 510, I have a question about the photo, and I'd greatly appreciate a little info on it.

Hi Mark, what’s your question on that photo? I should be able to answer for you.

It's a pedestrian question: not about the Polo Grounds, arm bands, or batting practice. It's also a long-shot question about the bat. Is the image of the knob of the bat any clearer on the actual photo than it is on the online image? If you have a nice copy of the photo, can you make out anything on the knob? a heavy circle? an X?
