Default E90-1, E92, E101, E102, E105, E106, D303, D380 + T216 cards sharing the same artwork

I posted the below in the Easy/Hard back run thread, but thought it deserved its own thread, so here goes...

No info on how easy or hard to complete back runs, but below is a compilation of subjects and amount of sets they are seen in the E90-1 American Caramel, E92 Crofts Candy, E92 Crofts Cocoa, E92 Dockman, E92 Nadja, E101, E102, E105 Mello Mint, E106 American Caramel, D303 General Baking, D303 Mother's Bread, D380-2 Clement Brothers Bread, T216 Kotton, T216 Mino, T216 Virginia and Tango Eggs sets that share artwork.

Mind you, the totals seen below do not include blank backs, the Blue and Red back Crofts Candy color variations (Sorry, not familiar with availability on any of these). Any cards seen in the T216 sets are also counted as 3 subjects, but due to unfamiliarity of actual availability of a subject in each set, my inclusion of these are subject to individual review. Also I have included in the totals cards from sets that have the same artwork, but have a different player identified (an example of this would be the Tinker batting card, which in both the D303 Mother's Bread and Tango Eggs sets are identified as Buck Weaver). And I may have just missed things...remember, this information is provided free of charge and was compiled by someone doing Net54 community service on the weekends, so reader beware. The cards with only a single example (not seen in other sets) are all from the E90-1 American Caramel set.

I have now updated list to include the 13 extremely uncommon D380-2 Clement Brothers Bread cards that feature the same images but in Black and White instead. I left off from the list the 3 cards on the checklist (Bender, Collins and Zimmerman) that have not been confirmed yet.

Thanks for the list, Brian. I'm working on a few of these subjects. I think I have the most of McGraw and Doyle bat. I'll post some more scans later in the week.

Pete brings up the point that I did not include any variations in my list totals. For example, I would have only tallied one for the E90-1 Fred Clarke, whereas there are cards with both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia team designations.

A question for Pete...are the 6 T216 Miller cards due to back variations, and what are those anyway? I am fairly unfamiliar with the T216 sets.

Never been much of a runner, but every once in a while I can fast-walk with the best of McLeans.

I posted this in another thread recently, but here is my Davis run. I will most likely sell/downgrade a number of the easier ones from this, but unless I am being forgetful, I believe I am currently only missing 2 to complete it; E92 Cocoa and T216 VE. At this point, I have never seen any evidence that the black croft or that the T216 Mino and other Kottons exist.

Hi Mr. Mac, I added to the original post the 76 (I believe this is the correct amount) cards with artwork not seen in other sets. They happen to all be from the E90-1 American Caramel set. Time permitting, I will add in all the subjects ranging from 2 to 8 to the list as well.

I think a lot of us folks can only dream of having even one Wagner of each pose, not double digits...impressive indeed.

I have included the rest of the artwork subjects and how often seen (as per my specifications) in the first post. Hopefully I did not overlook something, but always feel free to point out anything not hunky-dory.

I would like to make a few observations that may be of interest:

As pointed out previously, all subjects that are only seen in one set reside exclusively within the E90-1 American Caramel set.

All 8 of the artworks seen in two sets are E90-1 subjects that are in the E92 Nadja set, and all are St. Louis Browns players.

No subjects are seen in just 3 or 4 sets, and only a single subject is seen in 5 sets (Hartzell catching).

Bescher, Lobert and Wagner batting are the only ones seen in all 14 (minus the Tango Eggs) sets I have listed (I believe Tinker and Wagner have not been confirmed in Tango Eggs, and if documented only Wagner batter would be in all 15).

Brian,
Have you considered adding the D380 Clements to your analysis. Black and white cards, but identical poses.

Hi Ed, I forgot about the D380 Clement set...they are worthy of inclusion. I will update the list, but will leave out the Bender, Collins and Zimmerman subjects from the set, as they have not been confirmed.

I don't know whether to get with the program or get in a program. I thought I was doing a Doyle back run, but apparently I'm just hoarding.

Thanks to Ed's reminder, I have now updated the list seen on the first post to include the easily overlooked D380-2 Clement Brothers Bread set. These 13 cards feature the same images/artwork as seen in the other sets, but in Black and White instead. I left off from the list the 3 cards on the checklist (Bender, Collins and Zimmerman) that have not been confirmed yet.

Because of this update, some of my observations in a previous post have changed (subjects that tally 2 are E90-1 examples that are also seen in either E92 Nadja OR D380 Clement), and now the amounts that do not have subjects have shifted to 4 and 5.

I have recently picked up 3 more cards for a total of 14 cards for my Jennings back run since my July 2019 post #3 of this thread. This may be as far as I ever get, unless one of these cards, that I don't recall ever seeing but could/should in theory exist, surfaces some day:
- A blank back.
- D303 Mothers' Bread.
- E92 Croft's Candy with a red back.
- T216 Kotton Cigs with the "Never Go Out" back:
If this is the end, it's been a most FUN journey. And, thanks to those who have helped me along the way, especially Bryan ("Jobu") who has created the back-run collages for me.

Val that is an awesome accomplishment. Hopefully you'll be able to make a run at the other remaining cards if and when they turn up but you've already got an incredible grouping.

Thanks for sharing them!
