Default T206 question....

Posted By: john henry

I'm new to vintage card collecting and was wondering....if i found a place that i could buy a T206 portrait of addie joss listed in nm condition (from a reputable source) for $700...
1) would it be a good deal?
2) how likely is it that psa would grade it as nm?

i appreciate the input...thanks...

If it was already graded PSA NRMT thats a good deal, if not your taking a huge risk that its trimmed and worth only a fraction of that $700.

The questions you need to ask..... Why isnt it graded now?

If it is owned by a noncollector or a recently discovered card (attic find) it has a good chance of being unaltered and my be a great buy at $700. But if it is owned by a baseball collector, yet is ungraded, is has a good chance it has problems (trimmed).

Id ask the seller to guarantee it will grade (any grade).

...scans can be very deceiving. I have SGC 20's that scan like they're 80's. It's the wrinkles you can't see in the scans that is most troubling, and why thrid party grading is vital to purchasing high end cards over the internet.
