Neat item. Very scarce since little is known about him, (date of birth, around 1850 and death unknown) and the somewhat low final hammer price (kind of reminds me of the first professional basketball points scored...a document signed by that individual on eBay for around $100) reflects upon a collecting circle who knows little of this individual. He did in fact donate all his correspondents around 1920 to a local library. Never the less, a neat item for those who collect historic baseball figures.
