Anyone that posted in the last few days in the other thread please post again, if you would like to. That one went too long time-wise. Here are a few poor man's Jackson's I am adding to my collection, WG4 Polo Grounds and WG5 National Game. regards

If those Jackson's are "poor man's" cards, I wish I was "poor" enough to afford them. As for me, I'll have to stick with the $20-$30 T206 cards until I hit the jackpot. These are late May/Early June pickups but I haven't posted them yet...These are my first two ever (Schlei/Polar Bear was my first).

So Lean you were the guy who outbid me on those. Do you agree with the grades because REA thought the National Game card as WAY under graded.

If you even want to sell them LMK.

Below is a proof sheet that I picked up recently. It's an original proof from the 1915 Ogdens "Boxers" set. I have 2 other proof sheets from this set but have only posted a picture of one of them. These don't come up for sale very often!

I'm wondering if those boxers listed above would be any match with the athletes of toady, and do you think they would come close to winning a fight?

ROCKY MARCIANO, if at his prime and boxing today would he be holding any kind of belt? is it possible' he'd be a contender?

Picked up a nice lot of R314C cards and a R309-2.

The R314C cards were 18 different including DiMaggio, Feller, and Doerr rookies, along with Greenberg, Hubbell, Gehringer, Hartnett, Averill, etc.

The R309-2 is Mel Ott. 1st one Ive owned. Never knew these were so attractive, especially for a premium, and I believe one the rarest of the 1930s.

I think it is e121?

Anyway, I didn't want to be left out of the "recent pickups" thread so I picked up this card at a local show. Its in really nice condition.

Don't know the set, don't know the player....

Mark,

19th century cards are not obsessions, they are a sickness for which there is no known cure... think about it, are you sure you're ready to do this?

Scot,

I actually find that card very interesting, art work plus the historical value of the card.

Do you have and information on this cards, if so please post or shot it over to me!

I would like to know the year this cards were produced and if possible the artist name.

Very nice pick up!

Appears to be Old Judge Proof. Copyrighted 1888. Player is Boyce who does not exist and who I believe is Joyce who played one game for Washington in 1886. There are four "Boyce" cards two of which I have seen and have the same background but are different poses. If anyone has a OJ with the pose pictured on the proof I would love to hear from you.

Recently got this and a whole bunch of PSA Cracker Jacks that have been poped and sent off to SGC.

I still can't figure out why this card was graded like this and plan to have it reviewed in person as soon as I get the chance.

I was super excited to get this card and it is a tough one and this card looks great regardless of the grade.

More Cracker Jacks to come soon.

I received two items for my collection today from members of the board!

I'd like to thank Zach for passing on my email address to Toby.

I'd also like to thank Toby for selling me this beautiful Home Run Kisses Howley card.

In addition, I also received this awesome Chief Meyers M101-2 Sporting News Supplement today from Steve M., who responded to my new want list/contact page on my website.

Many thanks gentlemen!

Patrick

I never thought I would ever buy a new car again and even though it kills my card budget, I'm very happy with the decision.
