Default T206 plank psa 8

Speculation time :

IF the highest graded Plank ( psa8 ) come up for sale at auction, now this year, in the 2012 market. According to you how much it can bring $$$$ ???

The last sale of this Plank was in 1999 and the price was 203 000 $.

04/29/99 Mastro PSA 8 $203,992 02044145 45

And anyone have a good picture of this Plank ?

I gotta agree with Peter. Amazing how many 100 year old skinny borders end up in high grade plastic. Just my opinion.

Is it my imagination or do TPGs consider who is getting the card graded (the owner) more than what is being graded (the card)?
All things considered I think that a psa8 Plank could get close to the 1megabuck mark. I also think it would go well with the psa8 Wags. hmmmmm? Aloha, Dave.

Default plank

Is it me.....i have never seen the 8 , but just seeing it posted, i am pre-dispositioned to automatically look for "something not right" since i am always hunting scrap.....

Plank's missing color in face....if the borders are that skinny, and has the pale face, i vote this card is scrap....

Oddly enough, despite appearing to have skinny borders, the card does seem to fill up the entire space allowed in the PSA holder. I don't see much of a gap, if any.

Hmmm...I see plenty of daylight between the card and holder?!?!

I remember seeing something stating the PSA 8 Plank is currently owned by the same person who owns the PSA 8 Wagner.

If so, and the owner's statements are correct, it can probably be considered safely off the market for the foreseeable future.

This graded 8 is also trimmed???? Each time we talk about grade 8 t206, the word trimmed is in the subject. What do you think about this graded 8 t206?

I honestly don't think that trims are that big of a deal if it doesn't distract from the overall aesthetics of the card.

Looks good to me. If the player image were more centered -- l-to-r and t-to-b -- you'd see the difference.

I think it could go for a million+ regardless if its trimmed or not. Theres some t206 buyers paying crazy money for top pop grades even if the card looks overgraded. Its still a nice looking card either way but personally would perfer a psa 4 with some honest wear and character. PSA 8's look too much like reprints to me.

While there is a slight gap on the top and the right side, it appears to be minimal -- nothing out of the ordinary for a typical T206 inside a PSA "tomb". The left edge of the card and bottom edge are right against the plastic portion of the holder. Here's an enlarged picture, with red lines drawn over the edge of the plastic in the PSA holder. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree here, but I do not see plenty of daylight inside of that holder.

The right edge does appear to have an odd curve to it, although that could likely be the scan.
