Default Feedback for seller on ebay

Hello, does anyone notice a difference in items you are selling and seller feedback?

I sell items for my Daughter which are vintage toys, comic books, Marx figures etc. Most all of the buyers leave feedback.

I sell vintage baseball cards and memorabilia for myself when I tire of them. Most buyers do not post feedback when I sell the sports items. For example the last 14 sales on ebay, 4 left feedback.

2 different ebay ids.

Different buyers, different results.

I always leave feedback when purchasing any items on ebay.

Joe

my guess is that your toy buyers are infrequent users and feel obligated to post feedback, whereas your card buyers are repeat players and don't always get around to leaving feedback. I usually don't leave feedback for cards I buy right away, but take care of all my feedback for the week in one shot.

Also, card buyers might be more inclined to want to remain anonymous and leaving feedback is sometimes the only way a purchase can be traced back to a particular buyer.

I always leave feedback (buying or selling) I've always hated it when I leave someone poss. feedback and they don't! Really how hard is it???
To the post above, I could see not wanting some people to know if your buying 10k items (if even then) but how often is that happening? most transactions are less than 1k just my .02

Default I never thought about it.

Your right! Now that you mention it. Baseball card collectors do seem particularly reluctant to leave feedback. I have frequently bought and sold many different kinds of collectables. Those that are baseball cards just don't get the feedback. For example I recently sold a 52T Mays for 1K and I wanted to make sure the customer was satified...so I checked back and no feedback was ever left. As a seller I leave feedback the moment I receive payment......as a buyer I leave it as soon as the product arrives and I am satisfied. I hate to say it because I count myself among its ranks but bbc collectors on the whole seem very rude. Didn't use to be that way before the cardboard was worth big bucks and the advent of TPG and the explosion of new collectors from the 80s and since. I'm just callin it as I see it. Peace and Aloha, Dave.

Plus the feedback system is so broken as to be useless.

I pretty much stopped caring when they made it a one way thing. The DSRs don't help anything. As a seller those could be a very powerful tool to find areas where my performance was weak but not horrible. If for instance I got a 4 on something and could see which item it was I could adjust things to improve my service or figure a way to reduce shipping costs. As it is, it's an arbitrary number tied to nothing in particular (Or if you buy conspiracy theories nothing at all) That's used in a fairly random punitive manner.

I do feedbacks in batches when I remember to do it. If someone has gone above and beyond I make a point of doing it. Also if someone is new and asks.

Abraham, I don't thinks so, the vintage toy collectibles market has many repeat buyers and the hobby is very popular. especailly the toy collectors who collect MARX and those tiny plastic soldiers and figures.

David, I think you might be right about the baseball buyers.
