Default Need Card Help Auth vs PSA 1

I'm not a card guy, but in general if a card looks perfect, but is ever so slightly trimmed and thus given the grade of AUTH, do those sell for more than a beat up up card that's graded PSA1.

Is there a general consensus as what is preferred by collectors?

Depends on the card I think.

A nice-looking trimmed card often sells for far more than a beat up and untrimmed version of the same card. I don't mind trimmed cards at all, as long as they're priced accordingly. If they have nice eye appeal, I see them selling in G-VG price range, sometimes even more. Low-end T206 HOFers, for instance, routinely sell for $75-$100 trimmed if they look sharp, twice as much as you'd have to pay for a hammered version ...

As you can see, there is no consensus. It is a matter of personal preference, and even that can change depending on the availability of the card.

I don't like trimmed cards at all, but I've seen great looking AUTH cards sell for more than Poor. Realize poor cards can be very beat up and rough.

There is a very recent thread on this topic. You should search for it.

if the poor card, is pretty beat up and the Auth card is nice but SLIGHTLY trimmed, (not like all the borders cut off of a T205) then id would deff and have bought A cards. I dont take real bad beat up cards, just no eye appeal.
