Default Stamped back T206 Jake Stahl (No Glove)

Posted By: Jason Carota

I've had this card for a while, but never took a close look at the stamp:

It appears to be a bold/block type "EE" followed either by another E or possibly an L. Compared to the back of the card, the stamp is upside down. Does this stamp look familiar to anyone?

There are many T206's with various stamped letters on the backs. My theory is that the layered paper backs of T206's made for pretty good ink blotters in the early days. Someone with an ink stamp might test it, or clean ink off of it by using a small piece of cardboard. A piece of paper might bleed through. T206's were handy by the millions back then, so worked for this purpose. You see letters and initials quite often. Sometimes you see dates, such as from 1910 even.

No, No, No !!!!

Jason,

Based on what I have read elsewhere on this board, this is an extremely rare variation of the "EE" underprint. This stamp has been applied before the card was printed, not after!

Begin by following these steps:

1.) Buy a couple of roosters.

2.) Buy a double wide trailer.

3.) Start slamming the heck out of Lichtman whenever you see the chance.

If you complete these successfully, the card is worth $1500 (OR MORE!)

Thanks for the replies, Ron and Jim.

Jim:

You kind of lost me. I know you are kidding, but I don't get the Lichtman part. I was only curious to see if any other board members have a T06 with the same stamp. I know some collect backs with certain stamps.

Jason, Jim is right. If you follow those steps you are sure to have a $1500 card in your hand. Send it in to SGC and when they fail to note the "EE" stamp on the flip just tell everyone that it's because the "EE" variation is not in the Standard Catalogue and SGC was simply oblivious to a new variation. Then go out and buy some purty roosters and have your way with them.

Jason,

When you have some time to kill, (like half a day), peruse this thread.
