Default Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens dead at 99

What does this have to do with Pre-WW II baseball? I saw on the Cubs broadcast tonight that Stevens was a Chicago native and Cubs fan. He was born into a wealthy family and attended both the 1929 and 1932 World Series.

Doing that, I imagine he collected cards. I just wonder what cards he had back then and if he kept any of if they were thrown out when he went into the Navy?

He kept a condo/apartment in Arlington, VA, near the Pentagon, a stones throw from where I used to live. I could see his building from my windows. He did not spend much time in the D.C. area later in his career even when the court was in session. He spent most of his time in Florida and had the case materials sent to him down there. He earned the nickname 'FedEx Stephens'.

He was also a member of the Emil Verban Society. Along with Ronald Reagan.

You buried the lede as they say in the newspaper business . . .

Justice Stevens was reportedly the last living person who witnessed the alleged Babe Ruth called shot HR.

Look it up.
