Default Green Joyce M101 backs

Posted By: leon

Since there have been a few "finds" of Mall Theater and Holmes to Homes cards I feel that leaves Green Joyce as back to being one of the most scarce of the( 1916) M101-4 Sporting News backs. I haven't seen too many Green Joyce ancillary pieces but did recently pick these up. It was 2 invoices and the envelope....Through poor cropping I made poor scans...sorry about that. I was lazy and didn't want to re-scan them. Show a Green Joyce if you got it ......(not many places you can get away with saying that!!)

I've wanted a George Sisler M101-4 for such a long time. I can only imagine how much that one ran.

Many years ago when I first found eBay in the late 1990s I picked up a group of 10 Green Joyce cards from a noncollector on eBay. At the time there really wasnt the demand by back type collectors, and the premium for the unusual backs wasnt so extreme.

I sold them all within a year or two for about $30-$50 ea. they were nice too, untouched EX++ or better. I havent owned one since, they are tough.

"Notions" are sewing materials. I've known that fact for a grand total of about an hour (ie I wondered, too).
