...like Cobb to me. Also looks like a mini TV with a b&w photo inside of a random baseball player.

Looks a lot more like George Sisler than Ty Cobb. Then again, it could also be a no-name ballplayer. Interesting item.

wonder what the gold coating is worth by itself. if its as old as the seller thinks its likely high quality gold.

It has a blurry resemblance to Sisler to me also.

14 k gold....... depends on the weight of the item. Charms are usually small so I'd guess
100-150.00 worth of gold at 800.00 oz.

Agreed that it has to be Sisler. Good call.

I swear I have seen items like this in my youth. They certainly weren't gold (likely plastic), and I don't think they had a baseball theme. The ones I remember used to come out of a 25 cent vending machine (the kind where the charms are housed within plastic eggs).

but I doubt it's Sisler either. The face looks too full to me, such as you can see it. More importantly, if you agree with me that there are pinstripes in that white cap he's wearing, then it's almost certainly not George. The only season the Browns wore pinstripe caps during Sisler's tenure there was his rookie year, when he played in only half the games and probably would not have held enough popularity to merit such a keepsake. It's possible they used an old depiction of him later on, but more probable that it's not him at all---my guess is it was issued pre-Sisler.

Same dark-billed cap, same nose and lips, and appears to have the same "smile". Also, if you agree with Todd that the cap has pinstripes, this does too. (found on Leon's site!)

Wow, if you guys can see pinstripes in that little picture that is pretty cool. They might be there but I don't know if I can't see them. Looked like Sisler when I looked at it quickly but it may be Bob Fothergill for all I know.

could very well be Peter. When I first saw it, I thought it looked like Gil Hodges with a follow-through swing

I didn't see pinstripes...still don't. I just took Todd's word for it to bolster my Speaker theory. But now that I look closely, I think it's Al Rosen.
