Is there an equal split or is the linear text less common?

Thanks for the nice comment. Out of my 100 Colgans only 20 are horizontal text. I have done a little research on colgan backs as well and found that 1% of the colgans I tested had brown ink backs.

Nice Grove Bob - you just beat me to it. You're making a huge dent in the set in quite a short time.

Huge original collection of T206's, some T205's and a few E-cards.
The T206 count is 280 cards including 23 So. Lgrs. and 67% are Ex
and the rest are VgEx. Major stars are Matty, LaJoie, and 26 HOFers,
and 244 cards have Piedmont backs and the So. Lgrs. are Old Mill.

The tough George Suggs card is the only "biggie" in the T205 group
of 12.

From a large original collection from So Carolina mainly comprised of Tobacco cards this "sweet-E" was included.

Picked up one of the very rare Prest-O-lite Battery Postcards (Ted Williams) and the same seller had an uncateloged Tommy Henrich card from same series that would point the year of issue a couple year older (ca.1949 instead of the ca.1951 in the SCD).

Also picked up a nice Luke Sewell signed 1946 Sears (real photo) card.

And just today a N2 error card (Agate Arrow Point caption w/White Swan pictured)

Purchased this group at the flea market this morning. The T205 Honest back has a Feb 26 1912 overprint.

Thanks Patrick. Unfortunately all the guys selling them have had their inventories wiped out (by flippers)so they may get tougher to come by in the future
I've added 4 raw ones to my scan, 2 have the Collins overprinted back.

I'm way behind on my scanning, so here goes:

When it rains, it pours. I didn't think I'd ever find an N29 Getzin and finally got one by luck. Within days I stumbled across a chance to upgrade. Planning on keeping both for now - I really like them:

Probably the rarest, most important card in my collection now. From Frank Ward's website. ))

A little sideline collecting just b/c I like them. See the innocent looking Oakes? Even the look on his face looks like he just tried to pull something off. Well that'd be my first trimmed card. Thankfully it was not an expensive lesson:

Plus a few from FKW and Joe D - nice looking cards both!

The back must be aweful, because the front is beautiful (PSA1)!

Joe,

Thank you for the kind words. The back has paperloss which gave it the 1. It is absolutely beautiful in person. Definitely a keeper in my collection.

Found some nice cards this month, some super 4's to upgrade my current T206's. My first M101-5's, kinda like em.

And a special thanks to ZachNet auction house for the Ruth.

Not a baseball card, but it is vintage (at least by my definition). A 1940 government postcard autographed by Lefty Grove and sent from his hometown (and mine) of Lonaconing, MD. I think it's the first vintage item I've bought in about six months...
