Default O/T Yuenglings Brewery now producing Ice Cream, too

This is in response to several conversations I had at the Cleveland National......86 years ago (1928), Yuenglings Brewery (Pottsville, PA)
was forced to suspend their beer production (due to Prohibition).
So, they expanded into the Dairy products industry (milk, ice Cream, etc.).

This past year they have renewed this practice; and, are producing a very high quality Ice Cream.....with some very delightful flavors.

Here in Pennsylvania, it is available in most super-markets. I'm curious if it's being marketed elsewhere ?

Here in PA we've had the ice cream for about a year, its pretty good too!
However, I don't believe Yuengling's is making it, I think another Ice Cream Co produces it w/ the Yuengling name.

Default Jay

I probably should have used the word "marketing", instead of "producing".

I just saw it in the supermarkets in MA a week or two ago, so it's being distributed to more than just PA!

Ted, just read that David Yuengling started up the ice cream plant, he is the 2nd cousin to Dick Yuengling
who runs the Beer operation. So it looks like Yuengling is producing the ice cream,
although when I first tried it in the winter (choc chip mint) I was told another company was making it.

I wish I could get it here in Missouri. I can't even get their beer because of Budweiser (I assume). I have to get my Yuengling fix when I go south.

Jay,

You are correct. It is actually Leiby's who is making the ice cream and Yuengling who is "labeling" it.

Yuengling beer has recently come into the NE area and is fast gaining tap space from other more established brands in many places. They must be offering sweetheat deals to retailers to get them to remove other brands & put in Yuengling.

My favorite golf course was doing well w/ ShockTop on tap but now Yuengling has the space.
