Now I wonder if someone that has dealt with Adrian did that since this is the only item that has been bid on by that person.

It could be that this seller created a bidder ID to shill his own auction. When it didn't go any higher he retracted that bid. A complete guess but seems reasonable given the background here.

I had thought of that, but didn't want to jump to that without any other supporting facts.

I'm assuming he keeps closing the auctions to wait til the bids are higher, not realizes it appears shady and people are going to bid lower because of that (or people just wait til the last moment to place their best bids). If that is the motivation, creating another account seems easy to jump to.

I'm also not positive he doesn't close it again before this one is over...lol.

When you are ADHD, you don't relate well to people who are not ADHD. This is a fairly 'normal' symptom for everyone (meaning each of us relates best to those others who are most like us).

So when someone has ADHD and wants to sell something NOW, they can't relate (expect) that there are those who don't want to BUY this NOW, and can't totally relate to why others aren't jumping in NOW with offers (or hitting the BIN button). The ADHD person can't understand why others don't feel the 'immediacy' of their action. So they might try to make this 'happen' by re-listing. It's not the ENTIRE reason, but could be a big part of it in this case. And it's not too far off from the lack of ability to stay focused on something 'longer' term.

My 2 cents (along with having had some experience with step-son who had been ADHD).

I am guessing that that sale price is a big loss for Adrian... And I also predict that the sale will not go through!

Adrian (or whatever his real name is) is a joke. The fact that his eBay listings still draw interest here is a testament to his lunacy.

The kid is absolutely clueless. While I wish him well, his methods are bizarre.

Best,

Eric

I don't think "beyond reproach" means what you think it means.

As a marketing/advertising ploy, the constant i.d. changes are one of the few things he's come up with that makes some sense.

Maybe this should be the next Net54 game or contest; pick what date Adrian changes his eBay name and what famous year and/or card series will be in the title.

Default I have never met or communicated with Adrian

But, if his story is true, it is sad that we are berating him. Should I ever have an affliction I doubt I would mention it here as it seems to be a source of ridicule.

If you had been here in Adrian's heyday then you would know why some members are lighting him up.

I remember one thread he made fun of another board member's physical disability.

He brought a lot of this abuse on himself.

I stand by my statement. Do you comment when a person with Parkinsons shakes? Laugh when someone stutters? Stare at a paraplegic? Make bomb sounds to someone with ptsd?

If you answered no to these questions, why is it acceptable to belittle and ridicule someone who exhibits expected behavior?

My reply to you was my first post in this thread.

I was merely trying to offer you an explanation why other members are berating him.

Right or wrong, its their choice what they post.

Absolutely. I am not arguing, nor will I. However, I am disappointed in some of the responses. But to each their own as this Web site and our country support free speech. I just don't agree with all I have read with regard to this thread/subject.

Mark,
I understand your point, I agree and it's important to make that point. I would also submit though, that even one that has an anxiety disorder (or other disorder) can not be given free reign to be unprofessional, dishonest, rude, etc. under this disorder guise. We can not say because if someone has disorder, you can act however you would like and it's fine. Some of it may, and likely has nothing to do with the disorder. For those that disregard his issues completely, (that are aware) you are absolutely correct.
