Jay Miller just pointed out to me that the 1885 Hancock cloth cards should be listed under "others" not N card category as they are W cards. If youve never seen or heard of them they are really nice cards of 3 minor leaguers, all 3 are one-of-a-kind,as theyre the only known examples.Tho this is not a endorsement to get you to vote or not vote for them just making a correction with some extra information

John---As I mentioned in my email the Hancock Clothing cards should be in the Misc. category. They are W cards I believe.

N: N172 Anson in Uniform---the 19th century Wagner

T: T206 Wagner---The name card in the hobby

E: E135 Jackson---Great pose in black uniform

Misc: Hancock Clothing Card---First set of cards with photos, first minor league card( 1885 Syracuse Stars players)

N card - Ewing w/Mascott
T Card - T202 Cobb/Jennings "Ty Cobb (photo by Conlon"
E card - 1914(15) Cracker Jack Joe Jackson
Misc. - Peck & Snyder Red Stockings*

* not sure if this is the right place for this. Also, I don't think that there even is an Allegheny(sp) Matty!

Probably most of the cards deserve to eventually be in the 'HOF' (perhaps some by the veterans comittee, tho). My choices were the obvious ones.

4 base hits King Kelly
T206 Wagner
1914 Joe Jackson
1933 Goudey Lajoie

I don't own it (I was the underbidder when it sold in Lepset's auction), but here is the scan.

I got distracted, so wasn't sure if this was for nominations or votes. Seems like you should have nominations first, as there are probably some great cards that people would not consider unless they saw them on a list. So I vote that we have nominations before votes. So here are some that weren't previously mentioned:

N: N300 Mayo Wilbert Robinson, Brouthers Baltimore
N142 Duke Cabinets Robinson, Delehanty
N162 Brouthers, Keefe, Kelly (screw Anson, the racist scumbag; sure, the others may have been also, but he wielded his power and undermined the game for 70 years)
Alpha Photo Engraving McGraw, Jennings, Kelly, Hanlon

T: T205 Joss
T206 Keeler, Joss, Matty, McGraw, and Waddell portraits
T206 Plank (figured it deserved a new entry)
T207 Buck Weaver
T4 Weaver Cabinet (or T212 if cabinets not allowed)
T210 Jackson

E: Any of Cobb reaching up for the ball with blue background (or does that only come in the News cards? if so, put it in the "other" category, and put one of the other non-red and non-orange Cobbs "glove outstretched above head" down here)
Any of Matty horizontal
E95 Bender, Plank
E107 (Breisch-Wiliiams) Joss, Hanlon, Keeler, McGraw, Chance, Young, Waddell, and Delehanty

Other: M116 Sporting Life McGraw
C46 Dunn, Kelly, McGinnity, Gandil
Baltimore News (E appearance) Cobb, Wagner
But if I had to select only one, it would be the 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth (Blue version)

Card I hate the most (compared to what it should be): E90-1 Joe Jackson lipstick card

it's too hard to choose, so i'm only voting for cards I have owned (or do own) at some point ... maybe the next time we hold a poll i will have won the lottery and bought out tik&tik ... but for now:

1. N172 Ewing & Mascot
(with honorable mention to all cards picturing guys sliding (like McCarthy) or catching a ball hanging from a string (too many to count)).
2. t3 speaker
3. e90-2 wagner
4. delong gehrig

We did have nominations all last week, and all of the ones on the list above, original post in this thread, were all of the cards i received nominations for. Those choices you mentioned will be included on the next ballot, but for now you would have to choose one from each category, either listed or as a write in vote if you want them to count. Thanks

N series: N162 Kelly
E series: E92/E101/E102 etc. Mathewson
T series: T206 Keeler batting
Misc: 1933 Goudey Gehringer

Perhaps I should participate in the nominations next time around so that not so many of my choices are write-in.

Brian

My votes:

N: N172 Anson in uniform
T: T227 Ty Cobb (write in)
E: E-90-1 Joe Jackson (write in -- it's his rookie for God's sake, even older than the T-210 minor league card).
Miscellaneous: 1914 Baltimore Babe Ruth (write in)
