Default Please show Pre War Non-Baseball Sports cards

I hope it's ok to start a pre-war non-baseball card thread for anyone out there with pre war football, basketball, boxing, hockey ect. sports cards. Here is one of mine. A 1911-12 Hockey Card. Enjoy!

This is the rookie card of Jack Laviolette, Hockey Hall-of-Famer and the father of the Montreal Canadiens organization:

Here's a relatively scarce Lacrosse issue of Ed "Newsy" Lalonde, who was one of Canada's greatest and toughest athletes of the era. He is generally acknowledged to be the greatest Lacrosse player ever. But he is likely remembered better nowadays as a top tier Hockey Hall-of-Famer (he was Laviolette's team-mate on the early Montreal teams):

Thanks Joe; I passed on a few lower grade versions of that card for a few years waiting for a nice one, and am happy I did!

Default no worries on "a" thread

I don't think that every great once in a while there is harm in a non sports thread. I would also direct anyone wanting to have a good non sports discussion over to our friends on the non-sports card side. There is a nice little icon on every page, of this board, so it's not too hard to find. That being said some of these cards shown are awesome!! Very nice.

Hey Butcher that Beecher is bitchin'. Is it yours?

--Hey Barry S., I thought you might appreciate the alliteration after that "siked" debacle.

Hi Leon,

This is a non-baseball sports thread not a non-sports thread.

Here's a couple guys that did pretty well for themselves. Plus a card showing one of my favorite sports - One that's sort of dying out.

It's JJ on an American Caramel card! This one graded out an SGC60. I don't have a recent scan with the card in the holder. It looks much better in the holder!

Don't know much about the maker, but I like the card. I know it's circa 1912.
