I do. Even if not as a player, he was definitely both a pioneer and contributor to the game.

He's always been on my short list.

There was an SI article on him several years ago that brought him to my attention.

Default Hoy in HOF

I think he should be in the HOF. His numbers are decent but he overcame more than most to play in the majors. I'm surprised inducting him gets so little attention.

Default Ahoy there!

Ahoy there! My vote, for what it's worth, goes to Wm. "Dummy" Hoy! Almost exclusively a Centerfielder, in 14 near-complete major league seasons (he also played in the 1900 American League after leading the N.L. in games, plate appearances and AB in '99) his numbers are outstanding - especially for a man of his physical limitations: 1429 runs scored (better than 100 per season), 2048 base hits, 1006 walks, 596 stolen bases, a .288 lifetime batting average and .386 OBP. Oh, yes, and he was hit by pitched balls 134 times! Finally, he was his league's yearly leader in several categories during his career.
