Piedmont advertising sign

Hi-
I hope this post is not considered off topic (Piedmont related at least). I have a question regarding the Piedmont advertising sign in the upcoming Heritage Auction. It is lot number 19592 (circa 1910 Piedmont Tobacco large tin advetising sign). I have an opportunity to acquire one of these, but I had a couple of questions first.
1. Their minimum bid is 300.00, are these worth that much?
2. Have these signs been reproduced (like virtually every tin sign has been)? If they have been reproduced, is there anything I should look for to tell the difference?
3. Does the sign date to circa 1910 as the catalog suggests, or, like cigarette packs, are these difficult to date? Did they make others similar in design that came out in later years?
I appreciate in advance any help you might be able to provide.

A similar one sold on ebay for $299 last month. I bought one with a period frame (I'll post a scan later) at an antique show 2-3 weeks ago for $375. Mine has some bullet holes from it being used as target practice. It looks great on my wall and I think the frame makes it worth more. The guy I bought it from said it was from the 1910-20 period, and I'll be interested in what others have to say.

I hope I am not breaking net54 rules by answering this question, but $300 is too much for that sign when you consider shipping and the buyers premium on top of that. I think the last one I saw sold for $200. As far as I know there are no ways to accurately date them and they have never have been reproduced. They have been in the hobby for so long and advertised as c1910 for so long that most people accept that they are.

I bought one at auction a year or so back. I think I paid $100.

"Pre-WWII baseball cards and related topics". Piedmont certainly falls within related topics and is not OT.......No need to walk on egg shells guys or throw sideways jabs...It's really not that bad...No one is going to get thrown in jail (Bruce) for saying something that is OT...Piedmont is one of the more common T206 brands and there are a lot of advertising pieces with that brand on them...

Thanks for everyone's responses! I believe the one I am going after this weekend will be priced at below 50.00 (I love flea markets!). If I end up with it, I will post a picture on Monday. Thanks again for everyone's help.
