Default Mariano HOF Inscription?

Here’s an interesting ball coming up for sale tomorrow. Signed by Mariano, Damon and Ron Villone who all played together on the Yankees from 2007-08 signed on a Selig ball. The ball was certified by JSA many years ago (probably 2010) based on how many years ago they were using that serial number. I hate to throw around an accusation but I’d be interested in knowing how they could explain how a HOF 19 inscription got on a ball that was signed over 10 years ago. The inscription ink doesn’t even match.

Cert number doesn't appear in the JSA database. I looked to see if it included an inscription but it doesn't show up at all.

Inscription does not match exemplars at all. And if you had an opportunity to meet him recently, would you have him add an inscription to an old, subpar ball, or just have him sign a new one?

Perhaps it's just a "collector's notation"?

Yup, not to mention most signings don't even allow you to JUST buy an inscription, it's always an add-on on top of the normal autograph fee, and most don't allow inscriptions alone added to old pieces.

Just a silly case of someone getting too greedy. Ball was fine on it's own and given the side panel/other players/fading, the random brand new HOF inscription wouldn't even add much value to it even if it was legit IMO.

Also, It appears the cert number label has been either removed and/or re-applied. It's not laying flat at all.

The cert number doesn't exist in JSA's database. I wonder where it even came from.

I can assure you with 100% confidence that that HOF 2019 was added WELL after it was signed and it was not added by Mariano Rivera

For those who said the cert # isn't in JSA's database, here it is:

Looks like I left out the 5 when I searched. My mistake.
