Off to the races again here in March! Whoa! Make sure you guys hold back enough of your change to afford some of the big-boy items in the upcoming Spring auctions (REA, etc)!! It’s a long road!

Nice pick ups so far. Congrats Luke, those are two great “gets”. I was watching that Brown, I think you got a real good deal on that one.

This is a bucket list card for me. After getting a good look at the holder, I decided to send it in for replacement. It appears to have been stored with jewelry or something because the front is scratched to bejesus. Card itself has a way better than average front/gloss. Going to have PSA regrade while it's out of holder.

Default Wow!!!!

Haven't been able to scan the board as much as I'd like of late, but just saw the last 2-3 weeks in Feb and March pick up threads. WTF!!! Some amazing stuff, congrats all.

To keep the Cobb theme rolling, I have always coveted this card, never thought I'd own one, but fell in love with those top corners. Image is also really crisp in hand.

Unbelievable month so far, really amazing stuff; and the auctions have not even really kicked off yet! But, who needs auctions when you have net54 BST and great people like Jamie. Thanks Jamie for this deal, check is in the mail. And, I upgrade my Drum, which means a fellow Net54er gets my Solly Hofman Drum, and everyone is happy!

Nice job Ryan taking down the Gasper. I almost pulled the trigger but it’s a bad time of the year for me.

You too Mike, I’m happy you got the Solly.

Thanks guys!

Funny story, is that Ryan & I have each owned the Solly Drum two different times. I think this is chain of ownership...

Chris Browne
Kevin Quinn
Ryan
Me
Ryan
Me

And clearly many people owned it prior to Chris.

There's a few cards that Derek Hogue and I have each owned a few times...sometimes these cards just go back & forth, as different deals are struck. Kinda fun...and as the wise Jay Wolt once famously said..."We don't own these cards, we merely hold them for a while." Truer words have never been spoken.

Thanks guys. And yep, I’m still hanging around, more a lurker these days. Lots of work travel, so usually a quick scan before bed. The pick ups thread is always my favorite, absolutely amazing to see what people are getting.

I posted this in the Philly Show thread as well. I know nothing about it, but liked the range of characters, especially the possessed guy in the back row. If anyone can provide any information on year, team, etc I would appreciate knowing more info.

The Harry Forbes in the picture might well be this one given the bio and the fact that he had a brother named Charles, who is also in the photo:

Default Another T205 catcher

Received this Eddie Phelps T205 in the mail today.

Scan doesn't come close to showing how nice the gold border is on this card.

Need one more catcher in the T205 set now.

Thanks to Pete G. as always!

Thanks Leon. I missed the original auction in Heritage for the card. Made a offer to owner through Heritage and the owner agreed. So excited to get this card as Miller is a distant relative and until I saw this card, it was questionable as to whether it even existed.

Not bragging. Just stating facts. A card from a hard to find set. High grade. The first triple crown winner:

So, yesterday I was watching the Saco River Auction live on e-bay. I bumped my computer screen, which is a touch screen, and hit the bid button, and won this T213-2 of Baker by mistake. I think I set a record for the price of this card in this grade. Next time, I will sit farther away from the screen, lol. I like the card, but that was way too much for it. Oh well, live and learn.

The image is the one from e-bay, I haven't received it yet.
