All,

I have just completed a 74-page manuscript entitled "Inside T206" that contains my observations on the set after detailed study between 2003 and 2005 including a front/back survey of thousands upon thousands of T206 cards sold on ebay. Included is a checklist that differs from previous attempts in numerous respects, including the identification of a new series of six "superprinted" 350/460 subjects, reassignment of certain subjects to different series and a more precise identification of the backs available on subjects. Also included are discussions of the relative difficulty of subjects and more than a few theories on the set that I don't think have aired before and make for interesting reading assuming you are a T206 nut like me. An approximate distribution timeline estimated based on the team identifications of subjects and my musings on circulation, survivability, packaging and outlook are also provided. The manuscript is available in .pdf format by email for the asking. There is no charge, but if after reading the document anyone feels compelled they can send me a paypal as recompense for a minute or two of the over 1,000 hours I have burned on this project. Well, I found my first error in the manuscript. I'm sure there will be more. On page 28, first full sentence, it should state: "Seemingly, the sole 350-only subject who appears WITHOUT the frame is Nichols." Please note this correction. Scot

Another error:

On page 56, the asterisk for Doyle (Throwing) and Ewing should be in the Old Mill column, NOT the Piedmont 150 column. There will not doubt be more ....

I have flipped through it quickly and find it very well put together. It certainly requires additional concentration on my part (I am at work) and will certainly be an invaluable resource.

I personally will be sending Scott $10 for his time and effort and a nice publication with a neat checklist. I think if everyone did it would be a small return for time sent spent of invaluable research. I know I would pay that or more for the same type of material at the book store.

Yeah, "free" seems to be a magic word. I think between the email and thread requests I've sent out about 150 copies so far. Maybe later this week I'll be able to get back to my paying job ....
