Default What do you guys think of the '15 HOF Class

Hey guys,

I was wondering what you guys thought of this years HOF class just announced today. I think some people definitely got snubbed (Warner & Pace). And some of them really don't deserve it (Bettis).

Let me know what you guys think.

Glad to see Will Shields get in....I thought it was a shame he wasn't in last year. That guy was a monster on the offensive line for many years.

Surprised Tinglehoff wasn't already in. Still wonder if Jim Marshall will ever make it.

As a Raiders fan very happy for Tim Brown 'Mr Raider' to be elected. Had some average and worse QB's throwing to him for the first half of his career.

Numbers and averages for seasons 1988-1992 (bear in mind 1989 he played 1 quarter before injury so calculating for 1988, 1990-92):

Totals (receiving only)
152 catches - 2,237 yards - 20tds
Season average:
38 - 559 - 5tds

Numbers and averages for seasons 1993-2002:

Totals:
871 catches - 11,922 - 77tds
Avgs:
87 - 1,192 - 7.7tds

Pretty impressive stuff!

I think it's a strong class. My only beef is that there are still at least a handful of old-timers from the 1920s - 1960s that nobody remembers and belong in the HOF. They are so far removed from today's game and today's voters (even members of the veterans committee!) that their chances of ever getting in are slim.

It would be great if the HOF would figure out a way to address this.

Kudos to the 2015 class! Great selections in general.

Happy to see Mick Tinglehoff. Hopefully the Seniors Committee keeps chipping away and gets some more of these guys in.

Nothing against the guys who made it but Warner and Pace (and maybe even Harrison and Davis) deserve to go in before ANY of those guys with the exception of Tim Brown. Wolf and Polian as well as any other executive should be on a separate ballot and not included with players and coaches. They take spots away from guys who actually deserve to be there. Executives should NOT be part of the main group. Just my opinion.

Will Shields 12 Pro Bowls, 7 All Pro Teams
Orlando Pace 7 Pro Bowls, 5 All Pro Teams
Kurt Warner 4 Pro Bowls, 2 All Pro Teams

Pace will be a HOFer next year, but no way does he deserve to go in before Shields. Kurt Warner is at best a borderline HOFer. He had 4-5 good seasons, but was pretty mediocre the 6 seasons between losing Super Bowls. Neither deserved to be in on the first ballot with more deserving players waiting ahead of them. I think the voters did a good job on this class.
