Default Ruth Store Model Bat

Posted By: MVSNYC

i just picked up, what i'm assuming is a store model Ruth bat, at an antiques show here in NYC. it is a Louisville Slugger, that has "40 B.R" stamped into the label...i got it for $250. it has great use, alittle banged up and dirty. i plan to clean it a bit and display...i'll try to post pics monday...any ideas on value? it does not say powerized nor bone rubbed. late 20's early 30's?

thanks!
MS

Please post a clear photo of label, indicate length, and describe damage so we can better judge the value. You probably did quite well at that price point. Congrats.

thanks...John Taube said the same thing, 35"-36" is most desirable for such models. apperantely it is the same exact specs as Ruth's pro-model bats, and the only difference is the "40 B.R" on the label vs. "125". he thought (depending on condition) it could potentially be worth as much as $850. i'll probably just clean it up a bit, and display it.

Regards,
MS

I've got a twin for MVSNYC's!

The engraving of Ruth's name is a little crude and 'choppy'...is that normal for this model?
