Default My First Experiance with SGC and grading.

Posted By: Trevor Hocking

I have been collecting the N172 set for some time now and saw that SGC has an Old Judge set registry. So I looked into it further and found out that this is a free service and they will even host the images of your cards for FREE! So I decided to bite the bullet and send my cards in. Well the tough part was I live in California and I would have to send 100+ Old judges across the United states and then back again. I decided to use Fed Ex, who I ship over 50 packages a month with, so I thought it would be no problem. I had to get a separate company to insure the package, which cost an arm and a leg, but was worth it by far. I sent the cards on their way overnight next morning delivery. Well of course I called the moment I got into work the next day and to my surprise they said it had not arrived in that days deliveries. I was petrified. SGC went above and beyond by calling Fed Ex direct and calling me every hour or so to see if I had been found yet. The package was found in Tennessee undamaged and arrived safely to SGC, but I will have to say Sean and all the staff (especially the secretary) at SGC where very eager to help in anyway they could. Now I have the cards back and a great start to my Old Judge SGC set registry. Thank you SGC!!!!

SGC now has a new customer for life. Their customer service is second to none, and the cards look GREAT!! I would highly recommend their service to anyone.

I can't upload my images directly to SGC for my sets (low-tech, that's my nickname). Per Sean Skeffington, they will accept a CD with the images and will upload them for you. Look for my boxing type card set to be in living color soon.

Wow those are so wonderful. I must say that looking at those make me want to take out a 2nd mortgage and start picking them up.

I'll stick with my T-205s, but congrats on the scans.

My favorites:
Dell Darling: That is one sharp looking card. The background is as clear as can be. It looks like brand new it is so sharp.
Tim Keefe: Nice side shot
George Pinkney: Was that taken outdoors?

One question: When you sent them to SGC, did any of them come back as altered or trimmed?

Congrats

Nice to see such a high quality card collection on display. So how long have you been collecting N172s?

BTW, I've written you twice about your OJs and just curious if you've received them?

Regards,
Joe Gonsowski
