Default Are Carolina Bright's getting more expensive, or is it just me?

I bought a 4 last night and paid a price that I would not have imagined a couple of years ago. I have also noticed many other recent examples bringing very high prices. According to T206 Research, these backs are almost doubled in value (multiplier) by BroadLeaf 350's. That is hard for me to believe right now with what I have been seeing with CB's. I'm wondering if the gap is seriously being narrowed between the two....

I think you're right about pricing, I've noticed the same thing. One thing that did surprise me is the relatively small number of Carolina brights that psa shows as having been graded only 263 in total.

How are BLeaf 350's double in value (multiplier)? I have not seen anything like that lately price wise...

Considering it sold for $100 more in January it actually appears the price is going down not up.

I also feel like because it's tax return season, the final winning prices for t206 cards (or any cards) have temporarily gone up despite the rarity of the back. Peeps go crazy with a little extra cash.

You think? I figure most folks owe at tax time.

+1, I notice they have gone up in the last year or so. I attribute it to them playing "catch up" because they have been undervalued relative to scarcity/other backs.

Not to hijack Kevin's thread but AB pricing has been insane in recent months. I know Latham is a popular Giant card, I know this is an AB460 but this doesn't seem right to me:

Default ab 460.....

another "undervalued" back......the higher grade accounted for the larger premium....I do hear ya, $800.00 a bit pricey, someone set a high snipe?

Two people would have to set a high snipe, no?

I would think 900, 1,000, maybe 1,100 for a graded 4 common is a fair price? Anything over 1,500 I would consider high, but you folks are more knowledgeable than I am. What would you all consider a fair price or a high price for a graded 4 common?

Maybe. But you like the best of the best. Number grade means nothing to you. Eye appeal means everything to you.

Based on my limited seat-of-the-pants analysis I would concur. One just sold in our last auction, CB in a 4 holder, for 1192...but if 2 guys have to have a card, in auction, the numbers can easily be skewed.

I acquired a raw blue port Chase CB about 5 years ago in LA, still wrestling with the idea of selling to fund another purchase or just keeping it longer as I've yet to come across another in my journeys.

Obviously not T206 but I thought others may like to see the other set made by Carolina Brights a few years earlier (1907) the VERY RARE T91 "Nursery Rhymes" cards. Neat in that they have an ornate back showing the package that the T206 would also come in. The Carolina Brights T206 back is my personal favorite as it is a thing of beauty...

Do they all have the Jamestown souvenir info, or do the mail-in ones leave it off?

Looks like an interesting set.

I regret selling my CB Mathewson. Went cheap. I think AB's are doing rather well as well.

Sean- Totally agree about AB's. My actual thoughts on this initial thread was how close CB's have gotten to BL350's...No feedback yet on that...I think the difference is not that great especially considering the "multipliers" (T206 Research). CB's are 15x, and I believe BL350's are 28x. I just dont think there is that kind of difference...

Makes the Joe Camel ad campaigns look like they were targeting Methuselah.

I'm actually not 100% sure. I didn't scan it as it went locally. The one I sold had a slight name on T/B I believe.
